The first fall tournament is in the books—a soggy, soggy book. The Stars only got two Saturday games in before the field became unplayable and wiped out game three and all of Sunday. The girls did have
16 hits and outscored opponents by six runs across the two games.

This team is built on toughness, unselfishness, effort and fearlessness—and that is why Maura and Briana earned Stars of the Game. In her first game back after a lengthy injury, Maura got hurt hustling on defense and had to leave the game. When her team was making a comeback, she knew if she didn’t bat it would be an automatic third out. Rather than let her team down, she stepped in the box and laced a base hit on the first pitch. She kept going with a huge double in the next game.

After having some throwing issues in practice, Briana blocked those out and completely shut out the opponents running game while catching. She caught the only runner who tried to steal and fired pinpoint throws forcing runners to dive back to the bag. All out. All day.
