Sometimes we have activities to do or events to go to that coincide with nap time...there are ways to do both!

We ventured out to the zoo early this morning before it got super hot. While there it was Nico’s morning nap time, so I turned on the white noise app on my phone, lowered the shade on his stroller, and off he drifted to sleep!

He slept a solid 30-45 minutes which is a good enough catnap to hold him over until his afternoon nap. Because of the short morning nap, I will put him to bed a littler earlier tonight to make up for some of that lost sleep.

Babies and toddlers miss naps, or have shortened naps and that’s okay! Go to that birthday party, the zoo, or swimming with family. On those days try to get baby down for bedtime earlier than usual and he will be just fine!

🧳Traveling with babies and toddlers and feeling a little stressed? I have some sleep tips for you so it can be less stressful, and you can focus on the fun and memories you are making!

⏰Don't stress too much about baby's schedule BUT do aim for at least one good nap a day in a dark, cool room with continuous white noise. Try to recreate baby's home sleep environment as much as possible.

🏖Catnaps in the stroller or baby carrier, or even on the beach is better than nothing!

⚫️There are portable window blackout blind shades you can purchase on Amazon to turn any room dark. (Product in my stories)

⚫️There is also a product I personally love called The Slumber Pod It's a tent that goes right over most playards to create complete blackout, and even has a designated spot for a monitor. I highly recommend it if you plan on traveling. (This product is not recommended for outdoor use, only indoor use)

😴Try to get baby to bed somewhat close to their regular bedtime, especially after a busy day. But don't stress over putting baby to sleep exactly at their normal bedtime.

😊Overall, have fun, enjoy your trip, and within a few days of being home baby will be right back on track with his schedule!👶🏻: sweet baby Mateo 💙

No matter how “sleep-trained” a baby is, sometimes they just need to fall asleep in mama’s arms. Maybe they’re not feeling well, teething, going through a leap, or they sense Mama needs the snuggles just as much as they do. Whatever the reason is it is the best feeling, and it won’t mess up any sleep training progress that has been made. I relish in these moments and enjoy every second of my baby sleeping in my arms 🥰

⏰ Are early wakeups a problem for you and baby? Any wakeup that happens before at least 10 hours of sleep is considered an early wakeup.
There are a few things that can cause this.
🥱Being overtired can absolutely cause early morning wakings! Putting baby to bed later will not help with early wakeups; it actually has the opposite effect. An overtired baby will have more sleep disruptions.
🕖If your baby or toddler is waking up early, start with an earlier bedtime.
Make sure baby is getting an age appropriate amount of daytime and nighttime sleep. If baby takes a shorter nap or misses a nap ALWAYS go for an earlier bedtime.
👣 Babies and toddlers go through so many developmental leaps in the first 3 years which can also cause sleep disruptions
Make sure not to start new bad habits during this time. Be patient with baby and know that if you are consistent with your schedule it will pass!
And I cannot say this enough….an earlier bedtime NEVER hurts 😊

Why Sleep Train?
😴 We all know how important sleep is. Proper rest is important for our health and well-being, and babies are no different. Establishing healthy sleep habits sets your baby up to sleep well not just as a baby, but as a toddler and into their childhood. A rested baby is a happy baby, and that makes for a happy mama (and a happy dad, too!)
If you are having troubles getting your baby to sleep sometimes a few simple tweaks is all it takes. As babies and toddlers grow their sleep needs change. I would love to help you with any of your baby’s sleep troubles. We can get your baby to sleep through the night and on an age appropriate nap schedule. You can DM me or click on the link in my bio to take you directly to my website!

Give me all the snuggles and cuddles 🤱
I may not rock my babies all the way to sleep (although there are exceptions to this such as a sick baby, teething baby, baby needs a little extra mama love, or mama needs a little extra baby love)
But I snuggle them, cuddle them, and rock them every day. I just put them down before their little eyes are closed and they fall asleep independently in their crib.
Some people think sleep training means no more rocking, cuddling or snuggling. This couldn’t be further from the truth. You still get to do all of those things plus baby falls asleep independently in their crib and gets good rest (and so does mama!)
😴I’d love to help you get your baby to fall asleep independently and to sleep through the night.

⏰ Spring Forward!
🌸Time change is great...when you don’t have kids 🤪
Luckily this time change isn’t as difficult as Fall Back. But, to get baby on track with the time change you can shift baby’s schedule beginning now! If your baby is super sensitive start tomorrow by doing everything 10 minutes earlier each day until you reach the full hour at the end of the week.
For example,
⏰Tuesday typical 7am wake up change to ➡️ 6:50 wake up (follow suit with the rest of the day’s schedule)
⏰Wednesday 6:40am
⏰Thursday 6:30am
⏰Friday 6:20am
⏰Saturday 6:10am
🕖Sunday 7:00am

If your baby is not that sensitive to change then you can shift the schedule by 15 or 20 minutes for just a few days leading up to the time change.
🤯If you are super busy and life is crazy, you can always do the shifting the week of the time change.

💕Either way, give baby (and yourself) a week or so to adjust. Time change is never easy on anyone, especially babies.

⚫️And use those blackout shades so baby goes to sleep at his normal bedtime! 👶🏻: Nico
