September is a time to recognize and celebrate the many experiences, identities, communities, and forms of access that shape our world.

During National Deaf Awareness Month, we celebrate Deaf individuals, Deaf communities, language, culture, history, and the ongoing contributions of Deaf people across every area of society.

September is also National Guide Dog Month, recognizing the important role guide dogs can play in supporting independence, mobility, and access for people who are blind or have low vision.

At Quill Modelยฎ, we believe meaningful inclusion begins with recognizing that access is not one-size-fits-all.

People experience the world, communication, education, and independence in different ways. Creating more inclusive communities requires us to continue learning, listening, and making space for the diverse experiences and perspectives of others.

This month, we celebrate awareness, access, independence, and the communities that continue to shape a more inclusive future.

Even after the conference has passed, we're still reflecting on the conversations and connections that came from our time there.

That is one of the things we value most about this work: learning doesn't end when a presentation does.

Ideas continue to evolve. Questions lead to new conversations. Conversations lead to collaboration. And collaboration helps move the field forward.

Language is more than communication. For Deaf and Hard of Hearing children, meaningful and consistent access to language creates opportunities to participate more fully in learning, develop confidence, strengthen connections, and build a strong sense of self.

Because when we strengthen language, we aren't supporting just one part of a child's developmentโ€”we're creating a foundation that reaches across ๐ฅ๐ž๐š๐ซ๐ง๐ข๐ง๐ , ๐ซ๐ž๐ฅ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ๐ก๐ข๐ฉ๐ฌ, ๐ข๐๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ, ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ฌ๐ž๐ฅ๐Ÿ-๐š๐๐ฏ๐จ๐œ๐š๐œ๐ฒ.
