Somehow I managed to fit 2 beatspace fitness | Fort Collins, Colorado classes in today 🤩 I took Jessica O'Keefe ‘s Power Bounce this AM then Emma Mielke ‘s Rock’n’Roll Step this afternoon. Both were absolutely amazing!

My Fitbit had the nerve to say “slow your roll” during Step, but I’m finally ON A ROLL. LFG 🤘🏽⚡️

This is your sign to try something new! 🤩 I finally got to try out FORT COLLINS ASSISTED STRETCH | YOGA + PILATES ‘s Reformer Pilates class with some friends and it was awesome! Tayah’s still in the process of logging more teaching hours, but once she’s done, y’all better watch out bc she’s going to rock this class 🤘🏽🔥

If you’ve been around since 2022, or heard me talk about this, I became a Level 1 Lagree Instructor a few years ago and holy cow that was a wild ride. I was only teaching yoga at the time, but when I was offered an opportunity to teach Lagree, I stepped up to the challenge. It was the hardest and best training I ever experienced. I believe it helped me become a better teacher as well.

Reformer Pilates is definitely different. I’d say the main differences are:

#1 - The Machines
Reformer Pilates uses a traditional reformer with lighter springs, has a smoother glide, and more versatility with the straps, footbar, and carriage work.

Lagree is done on a Megaformer (or similar), which is heavier, more intense, and designed specifically to keep constant tension on your muscles.

#2 - The Movements
Reformer Pilates focuses on controlled, precise movements with an emphasis on alignment, mobility, and core connection.

Lagree is all about slow, shaking, muscle-burning sequences that keep your muscles under tension the entire time.

#3 - The Pace
Reformer flows a bit more…there’s a rhythm, transitions feel fluid, and you get small moments of reset.

With Lagree, there’s NO rushing. Everything is painfully slow (in the best way), and the slower you go, the harder it hits.

#4 - The Feeling
Reformer left me feeling lengthened, aligned, and refreshed.

Lagree leaves you trembling, sweating, and questioning your life choices, but you feel SO strong after.

Both are incredible in their own way…and honestly, they complement each other beautifully!

Moral of the story: your body (and brain) love a little plot twist 💫

Have you ever tried either of these modalities before? What did you think when you first tried them?
