Thought of the day since summertime is here and a lot do not consider the effect of heat and cold on your playing cue.
Protect your pool cue during hot summer months by keeping it in a climate-controlled room and never leaving it in a hot car. High heat and rapid humidity shifts cause wood to expand and warp, and can melt the glue holding your tip in place.
Summer Cue Care & Storage:
Avoid Extreme Heat: Never leave your cue in the trunk of a car or a non-climate-controlled garage. Even taking it out of a hot vehicle into an air-conditioned pool hall can cause thermal shock and warp the wood.Control Your Humidity: Store your cue in an indoor, climate-controlled space.
Question : Can sunlight damage pool cues?
Answer: Exposure to direct sunlight and excessive heat can fade the colors of your cues, weaken the wood, and cause glues to degrade.
