We are so excited to cheer on the Eastside Middle School girls soccer team as they play their first game of the season! There is something so fun about watching these girls get out there, play hard, cheer each other on, and just enjoy being part of a team. We will be rooting for you girls!

Have a great first game!

Well, Mother Nature had other plans for us this year! Our U Pick and Yoga event has been canceled as the flower growing season decided to wrap up a little earlier than we expected. We cannot always predict what is happening out in the field, but we can promise we will be back next year!

And because we are not quite ready to say goodbye to FernFaye Farm yet, we already have something fun in the works for their upcoming Fall Fest. Stay tuned for all the details because we have a feeling this one is going to be a good one!

So, what kind of week are we having?

The kind where you want to challenge yourself and see what you have got? BARR has you covered.

The kind where your brain needs a little less noise? Movement and Meditation might be exactly what you need.

Or maybe you just want to move, breathe, and find your flow. That is where Vinyasa comes in.

Whatever kind of week you are having, we have a class for that.

A little social media housekeeping, because apparently we all have enough to keep up with already.

Meta has changed some of the ways it identifies and reports when an image has been created or edited using AI tools. So if you see an AI generated image label on one of our graphics, we want to clarify that we do not use AI to create our graphics.

We do, however, use editing tools that Meta may classify as AI, such as background removal or other simple editing features. Apparently that is enough to get the little AI label these days.

And just to be clear, we do not criticize or look down on anyone who uses AI in their business. Running a small business is hard. Creating content is hard. Finding the time, energy, and creativity to keep showing up online while also actually running the business is a whole job in itself. We would never judge another small business owner for choosing to use the tools that make their life a little easier.

We just wanted you to know what that label means when you see it on our graphics.

One other thing that is important to us: We do not digitally alter people’s bodies to make them look more aesthetically pleasing in our graphics. What you see is what you get. Real people, real movement, real bodies.

There is already enough pressure to look a certain way. We would much rather celebrate people exactly as they are and create a space where you can come as you are.

And just to be extra clear, this is not a jumping off point for a debate about the pros and cons of AI created images. We are not here to tell anyone else how to run their business or what tools they should use. We are simply sharing how we approach our own content and giving you a little context about those labels when they show up.

Small business owners are doing their best out here. We are all just finding the tools that help us keep going.

With Love 💚💜

Remembering Dolly🪽
We do not actually know if Dolly ever practiced yoga on a mat. We have never seen anything that tells us she did, and we would never want to make that claim. But when we think about what yoga really asks of us, the way we live, the way we treat people, and what we do with what we have, we cannot help but think Dolly was a pretty incredible yogi off the mat.

The Yamas and Niyamas are often taught as a foundation for living a yogic life, and Dolly somehow managed to embody so many of them without ever needing to call it yoga.

Ahimsa is compassion and doing our best not to cause harm. Dolly spent decades using her success to lift people up, especially children and families who needed a little more help.

Satya is truthfulness. Dolly never seemed particularly interested in pretending to be someone she was not. She knew who she was, where she came from, and she was never afraid to own it.

Asteya is nonstealing. To us, this is also about not taking away someone else’s opportunity or light. Dolly used her success to create opportunities for other people instead of keeping everything for herself.

Brahmacharya is about being intentional with our energy and where we choose to put it. Dolly spent her life creating, working, giving, and using her energy in ways that clearly mattered to her.

Aparigraha is nonattachment. And this one really makes us think of Dolly. She could have taken the money she made and invested it, watched it grow, and simply made her money work for her. Instead, she chose to give so much of it away. She took something she had plenty of and turned it into books for children, scholarships, disaster relief, community support, and opportunities for people she may never even meet. That feels like nonattachment in a pretty beautiful way.

Saucha is about clarity and being intentional about what we allow into our lives. Dolly always seemed to have a very clear sense of who she was and what mattered to her, even in an industry that constantly tells people they need to be something different.

Santosha is contentment. Not giving up on your dreams, but being grateful for what you already have while you are working toward what comes next. Dolly never seemed embarrassed by where she started. She seemed genuinely grateful for it.

Tapas is discipline. And Dolly had that one covered. The woman worked. For decades. She built a career, businesses, a legacy, and still kept creating. There is nothing accidental about that.

Svadhyaya is self study. Knowing yourself. Understanding your story. Being willing to look at yourself honestly. Dolly took her own experiences, heartbreak, humor, struggles, and successes and turned them into something that other people could connect with.

Ishvara Pranidhana is surrendering to something greater than yourself. Dolly spoke openly about her faith throughout her life, but we can also see this in the way she used her success in service of something bigger than herself.

So no, we are not saying Dolly Parton was secretly practicing yoga in her living room.

We are saying that maybe being a yogi was never really about how well you could balance on one leg.

Maybe it was about how you lived when you stepped off the mat.

And Dolly lived a pretty beautiful practice.
