Recently, I was talking with a friend and my husband about the many things I admire about Dolly Parton.

Her talent.
Her generosity.
Her courage.
Her resilience.

But perhaps what inspires me most is that Dolly never asked for permission to be herself.

While so many of us spend our lives trying to fit in, Dolly never made herself smaller, quieter, or less colorful to make other people comfortable.

She stood firmly in her truth.

She honored who she was. Eventually, the world had to catch up, accept her, and admire her for it.

Since turning 50, I have realized that it can be harder to find people 10 or 20 years ahead of me who inspire me in the same way I found role models when I was in my 20s, 30s, and 40s.

Dolly is one of those people for me.

As I get older, I do not want to become quieter or more concerned with fitting in.

I want to become bolder.
Braver.
More expressive.
More rooted in my truth.
More unapologetically myself.

This is not the season to hold back. It is the season to take action, honor who I am, and live more boldly than ever before.

One of the things I loved most during my corporate career, and that remains at the heart of my work as a coach today, is encouraging others as they grow into who they are capable of becoming.

Looking back, I feel so grateful for the many remarkable people whose paths have crossed mine. Their accomplishments are the result of their own talent, character, courage, and hard work. I simply feel incredibly grateful that, at one point along the way, I may have had the opportunity to encourage them, believe in them, advocate for them, or remind them of what was possible.

Never take for granted the opportunity to make a difference in the life of someone who may be standing where you once stood 20 years ago. You may never fully know the impact of one conversation, one introduction, one word of encouragement, or one person choosing to believe in them.

I am so proud of each of you and deeply grateful that our paths crossed. ❤️

Who might need you to believe in their potential today?

Twenty-one years ago, on August 21, God blessed our family with one of the greatest gifts of our lives, our beautiful Carlo. Today, you celebrate your golden birthday, 21 on the 21st. 💛

Carlo, from the moment you entered this world, you brought so much love, joy, laughter, and purpose into our lives. Watching you grow into the young man you are today has been one of our greatest privileges.

We are incredibly proud of your ambition, creativity, courage, and determination. But even more than everything you have accomplished, we are proud of who you are. You are never afraid to voice your opinions or ask for what you want, even knowing that your persistence can drive us a little crazy at times! 😂 But that same persistence is also one of your greatest strengths. You have never been afraid to dream big, stand up for what you believe in, and create your own path.

As you begin this exciting new chapter, our prayer is that you always know how deeply you are loved, believe in everything God has placed inside of you, and have the courage to pursue the life that is meant for you. May your 21st year be filled with unforgettable adventures, meaningful friendships, extraordinary opportunities, and dreams bigger than you can currently imagine.

No matter how old you become, we will always be standing beside you, believing in you, praying for you, and cheering you on.

To every person who has played a role in Carlo’s life by loving him, encouraging him, guiding him, and helping shape the young man he has become, we are deeply grateful to you and for the gift of your presence in his life over these past 21 years.

I am incredibly grateful to be recognized by MAXIM as one of the Top Keynote Speakers to Watch in 2026.

But what means the most to me isn’t the recognition itself. It’s what it represents.

Years ago, I made a decision to dedicate this chapter of my life to positively impacting the lives of others. Sometimes that happens quietly, one person at a time, through 1:1 coaching. Other times, it happens from a stage, where I have the opportunity to share a message that might positively impact someone’s life.

Some experiences stay with you long after the moment has passed. This will be one of them. ❤️🏔️

We came to Colorado to take on Mount Elbert, the highest mountain in the state at 14,440 feet. But what made this experience so special was the friends beside us—the early start, the miles together, the encouragement, the laughter, the hard moments, and the memories we made along the way.

And for me, getting to share this adventure with Enzo is something I will treasure forever. There is something incredibly special about walking side by side with your child, watching him navigate something difficult, and realizing that these are the moments you will someday wish you could have back.

So grateful for this beautiful group of friends, this incredible experience, and most of all, a memory with my son that I will carry with me for a lifetime. ❤️🏔️

Enzo, watching you grow from a little boy into the remarkable young man you are today has been one of the greatest joys of my life.

Some of my favorite memories aren’t the big milestones—they’re our one-on-one adventures. Our summers in Gloucester, climbing mountains together, our date nights, long conversations, and simply doing life side by side. Those moments have become some of my greatest treasures.

You are truly one of my very best friends. Thank you for making me feel so loved, valued, and appreciated every single day.

What I admire most isn’t just what you’ve accomplished—it’s who you are. Your integrity. Your intelligence. Your incredible work ethic. Your discipline. Your drive to become the best version of yourself. The way you show up for your friends with loyalty, kindness, and generosity. The joy you bring wherever you go.

You have inspired me in more ways than you know. It was your passion for fitness that encouraged me to step onto a bodybuilding stage, changing my own life in the process. I hope you always remember that inspiration flows both ways.

One of the greatest blessings of being your mom is how completely I trust you. You have earned that trust through your character, your consistency, and your heart.

As you turn 17, keep dreaming big, working hard, putting God first, and embracing every adventure that comes your way. I have no doubt He has incredible plans for your life.
