Do you think Mamdani or Trump are expressing the higher or lower energies of their souls?

At the lower expression, Leo Rising can look like:
• “I am the center.”
• A need for recognition, admiration, or loyalty.
• Leadership that concentrates power around the individual.
• Strong identification with being the leader.
• Personal charisma used to strengthen personal influence.
• The group becoming an extension of the individual.
• Pride, self-importance, or difficulty relinquishing control.

But the higher expression of Leo doesn’t require becoming smaller or less powerful.
It changes what that power is FOR.

At the higher expression, Leo Rising can look like:
• “I am a center of light.”
• Visibility accepted as a responsibility rather than sought for validation.
• Leadership that develops other leaders.
• Individual strength placed in service to something greater than the individual.
• Charisma used to awaken, encourage, and mobilize others.
• Power distributed in ways that strengthen the group.
• A strong, self-aware individual who no longer needs everything to revolve around the personal self.

The movement is subtle but profound:

From wanting the group to recognize the individual → to using the individual to strengthen the group.

From “follow me” → to “let us do the work.”
From being the center → to becoming a conscious center within the whole.

This is one of the fundamental ideas behind esoteric astrology: the same astrological energy can look radically different depending upon the consciousness expressing it.

So when you see Leo strongly emphasized in someone’s chart, especially in a leader, don’t only ask whether they are charismatic, confident, visible, or powerful.

Ask: What is their power serving?

Angels have a name in the Eastern teachings: devas. On Saturday we’re gathering to work with them.

The Deva Healing circle meets at the Black Hills Spiritual Center for Peace on September 12, 5:30–7:15 PM. We’ll spend the first half hour grounding in the Trans-Himalayan teachings and how deva invocation actually works, then an hour in the invocation itself, then time to close and integrate.

The work moves through three levels. Globally, clearing what blocks the will-to-good on this planet. Locally, calling on the nature devas for our water, our biodiversity, our food, our climate resilience here in the Hills. And individually — for our local leaders, for humanitarian efforts, and for a personal healing request you can include when you register.

A group comes into incarnation together because they came to express the same archetype. Not the same personality, not the same life, not even the same era of a life. The archetype is the thing they hold in common. It pulls them into the same window of time the way a magnet pulls filings into a shape.

Diana died on August 31, 1997. Mother Teresa died five days later. One was 36 and lived in the middle of the world’s attention. One was 87 and lived in Calcutta among the dying. Nothing about their lives matched. The astrological moment around that window pressed a feminine quality forward into humanity, and both of them had spent their lives carrying a piece of it. They came out together because the work they were part of was one work.

That is what group incarnation actually means. Not friends who find each other. People assigned to the same archetype who mostly never meet.

And all this soul work, is about giving the world our souls work. Our soul expression, our love wisdom used for willful action in the world.

If you’ve built your path around feeling the light, you might be thinking that’s the measure of how far you’ve come.

I understand why. When light moves through you it feels so far beyond ordinary life that of course it reads as the spiritual thing and if more of it comes, surely that means you’re growing.

But feeling light is an incomplete measurement. It’s like saying your health is only what you eat. Not your sleep, not your movement, not the quality of your relationships, not your capacity to move through hard things. Just the one part you can feel most easily.

Here’s what I’ve come to understand 👇🏻

Light pouring into a personality that isn’t yet integrated is light pouring into a system with holes in it and it comes out as imbalance in your mind, your emotions, your body, your actual life.

Growing up spiritually means building a conscious relationship with your own soul. Not an entity. Not the astral plane. Not the egregore of a religion. Your higher self.

Some practices were built for another age. You can give one your whole life and not move an inch not because you failed at it, but because it was never built to take you there.

I’m not asking anyone to throw anything away. I still practice Qigong and I’ll keep practicing it. Just not as the main path.

And when you do grow up, your gifts stop being something you collect and become something you carry a sacred responsibility to humanity you get to be more conscious of in every moment.

So many of us have been handed the same lie, that feeling other people’s pain is a problem to always be managed. Shield. Protect your energy. Cut the cord. Walk away.

And respectfully? That advice comes from people who were never taught what pain is for. If the only thing you know how to do is absorb it, then yes, avoidance is the sane choice.

But we need water to survive, and we don’t drink every body of water we come into contact with. Same with pain. The question was never feel it or block it. The question is what you’re able to do with it once it’s in your hands.

From the view of the soul, pain is information. It’s one of the ways love learns to express itself. And it develops qualities in a person that will not unfold any other way…patience that isn’t performative, a steadiness that holds, real compassion instead of the idea of it.

We’ve just been conditioned to believe that a sensitive heart is a liability to be defended. What if we didn’t subscribe to that narrative anymore?

Because the heart has its own intelligence, and it doesn’t wake up by being protected from everything. It wakes up through practice. Deliberate, chosen, with discernment about when and how much.

If the full moon has been leaving you frayed instead of illuminated, come on in friend and take a seat.

Here’s the thing — the full moon will feel destabilizing if you’re meeting it as a personality with wants, instead of a soul with purpose.

That’s normal. Most of us were never taught the difference.

What’s not normal is white-knuckling through every lunar cycle wondering why the light feels like too much.

Other reasons the full moon feels heavy:

You’re being handed more energy than your instrument has been prepared to receive — so it comes through distorted
You’ve been taught to point that energy at what you want, when it’s asking to move through you toward what’s needed
No one told you this was a Soli-Lunar festival, a moment of alignment, not just a date on a calendar

Let’s take a crude example.

Say, I’m vibrating sooooo high, and full of love.

But I don’t have the capacity on the inner or outer planes to direct that love in alignment with new age values.

It’s the difference between a house being on fire being like…. Oh, that sucks but at least I’m lit with light 😇and intentionally moving to orient energy, focus and intention… but every single day…

Rather than putting one’s energy in the many other ways we focus, like, feeling devotionally ‘good’.

We learn to direct it. First in our innermost relationships, then outward.

For those that step on the path, all that good spiritual energy is a stage. Not bad or wrong, just like kindergarten isn’t wrong. And, let’s not get stuck in it.

Only a small percentage of humanity is on the curve to be able to ground these energies for the rest of the race.

It’s a sensitive time that needs all hands on deck for those who have capacity. Please don’t just pray for humanity.
