It's a big weekend in Emmaus as we celebrate America's 250th Birthday! There are plenty of great activities happening downtown, at our historic sites, and in our parks, including a drone show at Emmaus High School's stadium.
Adding to the excitement is a fun GPS-inspired tribute to America. This 2.50-mile course (get it!!!) begins at Harrison Street and winds its way to the Triangle, tracing the letters **USA**.
This activity is 100% informal and you can walk, jog, or run it whenever it's convenient for you. To help guide you, the course is marked at each turn with small red, white, and blue arrows, along with occasional arrows on longer straightaways. Unlike a typical route, this course includes some alley's and a few U-turns to create each letter. Those turns are marked with two arrows, but if you'd like a little extra guidance, print the course map before heading out.
For safety, we recommend always facing traffic while running. The arrows are easiest to follow in that direction. Although the markings are painted in the street, you may prefer using the sidewalk in a few places, especially along the very short stretch on Harrison Street.
Be sure to start your GPS watch, fitness tracker, or phone at the corner of N. 7th Street and Harrison Street, and stop it when you arrive downtown. Then share your GPS artwork on your favorite social media platform!
Most importantly, don't forget to wear your red, white, and blue as we celebrate 250 years of America!
