And finally… the lights coming on and getting to do what we came there to do.

Some nights remind you that racing is about a whole lot more than what happens when the green flag drops.

It’s the people. It’s the memories. It’s the racing family.

Steve Gilliam is more than a damn good race car driver.

He’s a hell of a dad.
A hell of a friend.
And the kind of guy who makes everyone around him feel like family.

We’ve spent a lot of nights at the track this season chasing speed, turning wrenches, celebrating the good nights and scratching our heads on the bad ones 😂 — but some of my favorite moments aren’t even on the track.

They’re the moments in the pits.

The laughs.
The conversations.
The kids running around.
The friends who show up.
The family that keeps growing.
And all the little moments that make racing about so much more than racing.

Mother Nature tried her best to shut us down… but the #99 wasn’t done yet. 🌧️🏁

The rain came through early and had the whole night looking questionable, but the track crew at Dixieland Speedway busted their asses to get the track back into shape — and they got us 60 laps of racing! 👏🔥

Steve started the night 10th out of 17 cars in a field stacked with some serious competition.

When the checkered flag fell, the #99 crossed the line 6th. 🏁

Was it the finish we’re chasing? No.

But watching Steve Gilliam continue to get more comfortable and more dialed in every time we unload has this entire Gilliam Racing crew damn proud of our driver.

Every race, we’re learning.
Every race, we’re getting better.
Every race, we’re getting closer.

The #99 is coming. 🧡🖤

Huge thank you to the Dixieland Speedway crew for fighting through the weather and giving us a racetrack to race on.
