Looking for a meaningful midweek activity for your homeschooler? 🐴❤️

We currently have Wednesday availability for families who want to give their children more hands-on experience with horses and expand their equine knowledge in a welcoming, supportive environment.

Participants can learn more about horse care, handling, horsemanship, responsibility, confidence, and so much more—all while building real connections with the horses they work with.

If you’ve been looking for something that combines learning, fresh air, animals, and personal growth, this may be a great fit.

🐴 Meet Elsa ❤️

Elsa is one of our beloved senior therapy horses and has been an important part of Angel’s Landing for the past several years.

She came to us after her previous family could no longer continue caring for her. With her future uncertain, we agreed to take her in sight unseen — and we are so grateful we did.

From the very beginning, Elsa showed us exactly who she was: sweet, patient, gentle, and incredibly kind.

Today, she is one of the horses we trust most with our very beginner riders and with participants who may feel nervous or unsure around horses. She has a way of slowing everything down and helping people feel safe enough to take that next small step.

For some riders, Elsa may be the first horse they ever sit on.
For others, she may be the horse who helps them overcome a fear.
And for many, she becomes a quiet friend they look forward to seeing every week.

Our senior horses require ongoing care to keep them healthy, comfortable, and able to continue doing the work they love. Feed, veterinary care, farrier visits, dental care, supplements, and everyday maintenance are all part of keeping horses like Elsa feeling their best.

It may look like a fun game of ring toss… but there’s a whole lot of learning happening here. ❤️🐴

Reaching down while lying across a moving horse challenges balance, core strength, body awareness, hand-eye coordination, focus, and motor planning—all at the same time.

Activities like this help participants build confidence in their own bodies while learning to trust the horse beneath them.

And the best part? To them, it just feels like fun.

Riding is only one part of horsemanship.

After every lesson comes the responsibility of unsaddling, putting equipment away, and making sure the horse is comfortable and cared for.

These quiet moments teach participants that horses are not simply something we ride. They are partners who deserve patience, gratitude, and respect before, during, and after every lesson.

Sometimes the most meaningful lessons begin when the saddle comes off. ❤️🐴

It may look like we’re simply putting a ring on a cone, but this activity challenges so many skills at once.

While the horse continues moving, the rider must maintain balance, reach across their body, coordinate their hands and eyes, judge distance, and stay focused on the task.

Activities like this can help support:

A trusted horse.

Horseback riding can build balance, strength, focus, and independence—but sometimes the most beautiful benefit is simply the joy of realizing, “I can do this.”

Patience.
