Ballet of York County is a 501.c3 nonprofit, tax-exempt organization consisting of a classical ballet school and company. BYC was formed to continue a tradition of artistic excellence and community arts education that is a fundamental piece of the history of York County since 1978. Our mission is to promote, advance and encourage the art of classical ballet and dance through education, appreciation and performance in the area of York County, SC.

Registration is OPEN for our next Community Series Class!✨🩰📚🎶

Saturday, October 3- Leaves & Pumpkins
10-11am

Ballet of York County Studio
420 Dave Lyle Blvd, Rock Hill, SC

These free classes will introduce children to the world of dance, music, arts and literature through storytelling, movement and hands-on activities!

Each hour-long class will begin with a story time by a librarian from the York County Library. Following the story time, participants will have the opportunity to dance and move based on the theme of the class with BYC’s Artistic Director, Leslie Cooper. Each class will conclude with a themed craft. Participants and their caregivers will have the opportunity to check out picture books and/ or sign up for library cards. Designed for ages 3-6 with a parent/guardian. Come & join the fun!

Ballet of York County is a 501.c3 nonprofit organization formed in 2020 after York County Ballet closed due to the pandemic. Consisting of a classical ballet school and performing company, BYC continues a tradition of artistic excellence in community arts education and performance in York County, SC that began in 1978!
Due to economic conditions, operating costs continue to rise. Performance revenue accounts for very little of Ballet of York County’s operating budget. BYC must raise the remaining portions of its yearly expenses from tuition, fundraising and contributions.
The BYC Guild was formed to help provide necessary additional financial support to Ballet of York County. BYC must rely on the generosity of patrons and fans to continue to provide high quality live arts performances for our community.
