A Challenging Year for Golf Course Superintendents

This is an appreciation post for not only Des Moines Municipal Golf, but for the awesome friends all over Iowa who run golf leagues across the state.

Tuesday nights are my primary "me time" all the way through August every year. Waveland Golf Course is an amazing place to be able to play regularly, not only because the course is fun, but the people are amazing.

This week, we finished up our 2026 league season, and as always, it went by way too fast. Here are just a couple pictures from our last night out (wish I would've gotten more!)

Thanks to all golf course operators around Iowa (TAG YOUR FAVORITES!!) for providing a regular opportunity for golfers to get out on the course and socialize with their friends. It's not easy work, but you're very appreciated!
