Hi everyone!
I wanted to reach out to our swim family and everyone who has expressed interest in the 26-27 team. Currently we are working through some of the preseason challenges. Hopefully we will soon have our conference swim meet schedule. Once we have that schedule we will then be able to determine our practice schedule and set up a few non-conference swim meets.
We are also close to selecting a team competition suit for this year. As soon as we know more, we will let you know.
As many of you may have heard, Coach Thornburg, has had to step back from coaching this year. At the moment it is just me (Coach Hill), but we are actively looking for a second coach.
The first practice, either in the water or a dryland will be during the first week of November. There will be several interest meetings prior to then so swimmers listen to announcements at school and check your email for those dates and times.
Finally, we do have the opportunity to earn some money for the swim team, by working the concession stand at the JV Football game on October 15th. This not only supports the team, but it also supports our ELHS Sports Boosters, who very generously support us! We need 6-8 volunteers (parents and swimmers) to help that Thursday night from 5:30-9:00. We also need swimmers to help clean up the stadium after the game. Between these two items we can earn around $300-$400 for the team. Please use this Signup Genius link for the concession stand.
