I absolutely love painting on the beach. Sometimes I drag an easel down to the sand, other times I just doodle in watercolor journals to the sound of the waves and of course,there are times when nothing is more satisfying than just swatching color!!

This new little Hummer showed up in my garden last night. I don’t know if it’s a juvenile or if it’s a small female, She doesn’t race in here buzzing like the other others, and she doesn’t fly while she’s drinking she just perches on the wire. I’m hoping she’s a baby, just learning otherwise I’m going to fear that she is sick.
Any ideas?

I believe life is sacred. Beauty is one of the ways I honor that sacredness. Every ordinary act can become an act of gratitude when done with intention. I paint in beautiful clothes from lovely vessels. I feel tremendous gratitude as I tend to my garden and yes, I do feed my dogs from beautiful dishes.:) My way of curating a splendid life is noticing the beauty all around me, and making even the most mundane of tasks beautiful and meaningful.

For me, the subject isn’t land or sea; it’s the feeling.

I’ve always been drawn to painting emotion more than place. I love leaving room for each person to bring their own memories and experiences into the work. The painting becomes a conversation rather than a definition.

My hope is that Carried by Light offers a small pause in a busy world, and a reminder that beauty still has the power to quiet the soul.
