The NAPHL will continue with a structure that features 3 different divisions. Teams were selected based on USA Hockey Tier I, Tier II, or Prep/HS status.
The NAPHL offers 4 age classifications that will compete at the 18U, 16U, 15U, and 14U levels. The NAPHL, which will be celebrating its ninth season in 2017-18, is composed of 45 Midget Major (18U) and Midget Minor (16U & 15U) teams from across North America that compete at the USA Hockey Tier I level. Founded in 2009, the NAPHL continues to establish itself as one of the premier grounds for devel
opment and exposure. The success of teams on the National stage, as well as the success of NAPHL players at the next levels of hockey, is further proof that the NAPHL is redefining exposure and has elevated itself to one of the premier training grounds for development and opportunity. This past season was one for the record books for the NAPHL. A record number of seven NAPHL alumni were selected in the 2016 NHL Draft. A record number of 64 NAPHL players were either tendered or drafted into the NAHL and a record number of 23 NAPHL players were selected in the 2016 USHL Draft. The NAPHL, which is sanctioned by USA Hockey, utilizes the USA Hockey Officiating Development Program and is designed to maximize the exposure of all the participants through the NAHL's high-profile recruiting events that attract hundreds of college, junior and professional scouts. The NAPHL provides an organized and competitive experience with an unrivaled scouting presence guaranteed to benefit all of the participating student-athletes and programs.
