People were asking about this play. The violation is in Rule 5-15-d under Game Misconduct. I have clipped and posted the rule below. What people should understand is, this rule we get is unpopular, which is why, Umpires (depending on severity of act) utilize warnings. The fact theie behavior showed that they didn't care about the warning, means you enforce the penalty.
This is absolutely an Organized Demonstration with intent to distract, and after the warning they all did it to the incite the crowd as well....both violations, and despite the unpopular decision by the "fans", the umpire crew did their job.
I will never understand why this behavior happens, but then again, that's not the job. The job is to enforce the rules as they are written. Great job by this crew here!!!!
5-15-d. Unsportsmanlike Conduct 1) Game personnel shall not use language or actions that will, in any manner, refer to or reflect negatively upon opposing players, coaches, umpires or spectators Any orchestrated activities by any player or dugout personnel designed to distract, intimidate or disconcert the opposing team or reflect poor sportsmanship shall not be allowed. This includes activities such as.
1. Negative comments directed at an opponent, umpire or spectator.
2. Bench jockeying
3.Bat flips near or toward an opponent or umpire.
4.Use of props or signs directed at an opponent or umpiring decision
PENALTY for (1)—If the offense is minor in nature, the umpire may warn the offending individual, their team and the head coach one time. If the unsportsmanlike conduct continues after the warning or if the initial offense is a major offense, the offender shall be ejected. If the unsportsmanlike conduct continues after the first ejection, the head coach shall be ejected along with any other offending team personnel.

This marks the first of several opportunities we will be offering this year. All are welcome to attend our posted clinics and camps. We invite you to join us as we prepare for the fall and spring seasons. We are delighted that Texas Quality Umpires and Texas Certified Umpire Association have chosen us to provide training for their umpires. The camp promises to be outstanding, and all those interested in umpiring are invited to attend.
We will be posting our camp dates in the coming week. We are putting together some preparatory 3 and 4 man camps as well, to better prepare guys looking to advance and get hired in the college levels or advance up and prepare for playoffs in the high school level. They will be cost friendly, with quality training! Stay Tuned!
Well this should spark amazing debate! The pitch was ruled ball 4. But what do we have here! I would strongly urge people to open their rulebooks and look up when a batter becomes a runner! It makes answering this a whole lot easier.
