Big shoutout to all of the eager gamers who came and tried out for the esports team this year!

It is our pleasure to present to you all the official 2026-1027 lineup! These competitors really stuck out during tryouts this week and will carry on the Vanguard torch—bringing non-stop, week-to-week action across 12 different games!

If you see your name, be sure to report to G203 after school from 4:30 to 5:30 for the first official full esports meeting! 🎮

Vanguard esports is losing some titans this year, but we’re not gonna let that stop us from continuing to improve, compete and bring home the glory! Thanks to all the rest of the district that came and supported and for for making this possible!

Vanguard esports would like to recognize Emiliano Medrano this week! Emi has shown great dedication and skill this year as the newest addition to the Vanguard Rocket League JV team. Emi represents the future of the program, as many seniors depart this season. However, we couldn’t be happier as Emi constantly brings good vibes and great gameplay.

Another round of announcements! These Vanguards qualified for the Vanguard esports team last week and will be reporting for duty for their first round of matches in the coming weeks. Be sure to catch the action on Twitch, or see it live by coming to G203 on Wednesdays and Thursdays. With the help of Mr. Cuellar, we will not be offering casual days on Wednesday and Thursday to allow all of our Vanguards to come and share their love of gaming together.

We like to highlight our players, and who better to highlight than the Overwatch 2 team captain, Solomon Collier!

Solomon has been with Vanguard esports for 3 years now and serves as this year’s team captain to a stacked team. He loves to play games in his free time, and Overwatch is definitely one of his favs! But, his favorite game of all time is Ghost of Tsushima.

He can’t wait to hit it big at state this year and hopes everyone at will support his dream and his team!
