We're almost there. One more day until the weekend!ππΎ
I recently had an opportunity to do a teaching to a small group of fellow believers about being inspired to more and bigger:
Loving more and bigger
Serving more and bigger
Sharing Jesus more and bigger
Honoring the price of the Cross and shining our light everywhere we are able.
Matthew tells us the following: You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light shine before men in such a way that they see your good works, and glorify your Father in Heaven.
I posed the hard question:
You may be the best Christian you know how to be...in church. You serve, you sing, you raise holy hands in worship, and you lay holy hands in prayer at the altar...
But on Monday, you're not the same Christian you were in church yesterday. Maybe you're scared to profess Jesus as loudly on social media as you do while the praise team is singing. Maybe you're nervous to pray for that lady in the grocery store even though you were anointing people left and right at the altar on Sunday. Maybe your gift of generosity stops after the tithe basked leaves your hands on Sunday...
BUT
Jesus is more than a pew on Sunday.
He's loving people outside of your church Monday through Sunday...even the hard-to-love.
He's serving people outside of your church Monday through Sunday...even when you don't get anything back.
He's letting people see you worship and praise God just as powerfully on Monday as you do on Sunday...and not caring what they think.
It's standing for what you know to be true according to God's Word regardless of public opinion and walking that out in faith...no matter who else applauds you or believes you.
Jesus is more than a pew on Sunday.
He is a lifestyle.
He is an everyday decision.
He is a moment-by-moment posture of serving.
People should look at you and know that you serve God and that you love Jesus.
But do they?
Or is that hidden under the basket of the four-walled church?
I challenge you today to bring Jesus out of the four walls and into the open air world around you. I challenge you to begin to live a life that people when they see you say: She loves Jesus! We know that much!
Jesus is more than a pew on Sunday.
How will your light shine for Him now that that day is over?
Live big.
Live more.
Love more.
Shine your light for the world to see.
And not just your church.
You are so incredibly loved!
