Postseason week mindset.

09/14/2026

The Cubs split their DH with the A's yesterday as they wrapped up the 2026 regular season.

In game one, Ben Bestland started and went the distance. The Cubs offense couldn't overcome a couple of miscues in the field that gave the A's runs, and the final score was Cubs 2, A's 4.

In game two, Matt Delaney started on the hill, and Scott Jensen came on in relief midway through the game. The Cubs bats heated up, along with their legs (8 SB's) and the final result was a Cubs win, 13-9.

Highlights at the plate Sunday were: Scott Jenson with 3 hits including a double, Chris Gregg with 2 hits and 3 RBI, Mike Miller with 2 hits and 3 RBI, and Chris Prideaux with 2 hits and 2 RBI.

The Cubs will finish their season next Sunday in the M50BL AA tier playoff tournament.

The Cubs are back in action tomorrow as they wrap up the regular season with a DH with the Apple Valley A's.

The Cubs win two today! 4-1 in game one, 5-4 in game two.

In game one, Ben Bestland toed the rubber and threw a complete game against the Silver Snappers at Greenfield Park. 6IP, 4H, 1R, 1BB, 4 K. 84 pitches.

In game two, Dereck Grosskurth started on the mound for the Cubs, his first in the 50+ league. He threw the first four innings, and earned the win. Matt Delaney came in relief for the final two innings and closed the game out for the save - stranding the potential tying and winning runners on 2nd and 3rd as the final out was recorded.

Highlights at the plate for the Cubs today were...

Wade Staebell with 4 hits, Mike Miller with 3 hits and 2 RBI, and Scott Jensen with 3 hits and 3 RBI.

The Cubs will be off next weekend over Labor Day, as they rest up and prepare for the final stretch of games the following two weekends in September.

On the road again... Let's go Cubs!

The Cubs come up short in both games today against the Stillwater Stallions.

In game one Matt Delaney pitched, going the distance as the Cubs rallied late but not enough. Final score 8-12.

In game two Scott Jensen was on the hill for the duration. The Cubs were ahead and then lost the lead late. Final score 4-8.

Highlights for the day were John Green and Dale Bjerke with three hits apiece, and Nick Egger going 2 for 2 with a double in his M50BL debut.

The Cubs travel to Mounds View next Sunday to take on the Silver Snappers.

The Cubs win two today!

In game one the Cubs won 3-1 over the Chippewa Valley Timbers. Delaney started on the mound, getting the win. Jensen came in to get the final four outs and the save.

In game two the Cubs won 11-1. Jensen started, picking up where he left off. Bestland finished the game, earning the win

Highlights for the day were Bestland’s 3 RBI, Kipkowski’s two doubles and three runs scored, and Moreno’s busy day at the hot corner - handling eleven chances without error and starting two double plays!

The Cubs travel to Stillwater next Saturday to take on the Stallions.
