Tell me how you know its race day without me telling you it's race day.. LOL

After a long, hot and humid night, the race finally got underway. Dominic would start 10th but immediately jumped to second place after the start when other cars struggled with the wet track.

He battled for 1st for multiple laps before getting pushed back into 5th position when the track started drying out. He almost got that podium finish but we've got another shot at it tonight.

Charlotte bound for rounds 1 and 2 of the Cookout Summer Shootout!

A candid picture we took from last year's Cookout Summer Shootout. Kyle was parked in the next stall over from us at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

From one racing family to another, we are deeply saddened to learn of Kyle's passing. Although we didn't know each other, we've crossed paths so many times at our local race tracks. Our hearts go out to Samantha, Brexton and Lennix during this difficult time. 😞
