Columbus Super Kings: Proud Runners-Up at CSK Amigos 40+ Tournament (Division 2)

Columbus Super Kings proudly finished as runners-up in the CSK Amigos 40+ Tournament 2026 after an incredibly challenging day of cricket. Playing six games under the scorching sun till late in the night tested every player’s fitness, focus, and determination.

The final was full of drama and nail-biting moments. Although we fell just short in the end, the commitment, passion, and intensity our team showed throughout the tournament were truly outstanding. Everyone stepped up when it mattered and gave their best for the team.

A special mention to our bowlers Murali, Viswa, Santhosh Krishnan, and John for their excellent effort in every game. With shorter boundaries, it was not easy for the bowlers, but they still did a fantastic job, keeping us competitive throughout the day.

Our batting unit was simply amazing. John, Kalai, Dinesh, Sajin, Vino, and Santhosh showed great coordination and gave everything possible for the team. Their contributions were crucial in helping us reach the final. Special appreciation to Vino, Kalai, Dinesh, and Viswa for showing great sportsmanship by putting the team first and adjusting their roles whenever needed. That kind of selfless attitude is what makes a team stronger.

One unfortunate situation was that CSK Singams had to face CSK Strikers in the semi-finals, meaning one of our own teams had to exit the tournament. It was a tough moment, but both teams played with great spirit.

Overall, it was a fantastic performance by everyone. This runners-up finish is a reward for every player who gave an amazing effort on the field. Extremely proud of the entire team. Well fought, Super Kings!

Also, congrats to Kakatiya Warriors on winning the title.

A big thank you to CSK Amigos for conducting a wonderful tournament covering regular T7 and 40+ on August 8th 2026.

The tournament was very well organized from start to finish. It began on time and ended on time, which showed great planning and discipline. Every CSK Amigos volunteer put in a lot of effort and stayed committed throughout the day.

Food and snacks were provided on time, and the quality was very good. The new tournament format was also a great idea. It made the matches more interesting and enjoyable for all the teams and players.

CSK Amigos handled difficult situations very well and always found the right solutions. The trophies were of great quality and made the tournament feel even more special. Everything that was promised was delivered in a very professional and impressive way.

CSK Amigos has set a great example for other teams when it comes to conducting tournaments. We wish the entire CSK Amigos team more success and hope to see many more tournaments from them in the future.

Columbus Super Kings will be happy to support CSK Amigos as much as we can for their future events.

What a tournament to remember, finishing as semi-finalists.

A big thanks to VJK: he was the one who helped us form this team and made it possible for us to play together this week. Without his effort and initiative, this journey would not have started.

A big shout-out to Mahesh for his excellent captaincy. He made great use of the powerplay with his aggressive batting. Especially in the pre-quarterfinal, he set the tone for the game by smashing two sixes in the very first over, giving the team the perfect start.

Alakesh was outstanding with the ball throughout the day. It is not easy to bowl your full quota in every game from morning to evening while maintaining the same level of consistency. In the pre-quarter-final, when the game was slipping away, he delivered the crucial breakthrough with a brilliant slow ball. In the semi-final, he once again made an immediate impact by taking the main wicket in the very first over.

Veevin gave everything for the team, with the bat, ball, and in the field. His incredible jumping catch in the quarter-final, just above the boundary rope, was a turning point in the game. That moment lifted the entire team’s energy and belief.

Prasanth showed tremendous dedication and commitment. Despite playing with a broken nose, he was with the team from the morning and did an excellent job behind the wickets. His energy and passion remained the same until the very last ball.

Jeffen: In one of the crucial games, we were struggling after scoring only 4 runs in 2 overs. Then Jeevan changed the momentum completely by hitting two monstrous sixes and brought us back into the game during a pressure chase. Mark my words, you are going to be one of the top hitters in Columbus

Dinesh was outstanding in the inner circle, saving runs consistently throughout the day. He also took one of the most important and pressure-filled catches in the quarter-final.

Murali was not originally part of the plan, but he stepped up when we needed him with a last-minute request. He immediately showed his class by bowling five dot balls in an over. If you wake him up from sleep and ask him to bowl, he will still deliver a maiden over! He also played a crucial role in the quarter-final partnership. When we needed 9 runs from 7 balls, he kept the pressure on the opposition by running three consecutive twos, bringing the equation down to 3 runs from 4 balls.

Rajkumar delivered an outstanding bowling performance: disciplined, economical, and constantly applying pressure on the opposition batters. A selfless competitor with a strong mindset, he’s always willing to adjust his role for the team’s success.

Pradeep Raj PR was excellent in the field and kept supporting the team as a unit until the very end. His positive attitude and teamwork were valuable throughout the tournament.

Last but not least, a big thank-you and shout-out to Santhosh (Adams) for his invaluable input throughout every game. You read the Columbus players exceptionally well and delivered consistently with both bat and ball across all matches.

At the end of the day, reaching the semi-finals and playing under the lights was a very special moment. It was achieved because of our team bonding, support for each other, positive attitude, and the fun we had together on the field. Everyone contributed in their own way, and that made this journey memorable.

And of course, we cannot forget the best lunch at Hyderabad House! 😄
