Trofholz’ win $5,000 raffle package to Big Cedar Lodge

Congratulations to Elk members Jay and Jeanine Trofolz who won $5,000 in gift certificates for Big Cedar Lodge in Ridgedale, MO. This special raffle was limited to only Elk members and no more than two tickets could be purchased.
The raffle was held Sunday afternoon at the Elks, and the Elks Lodge #1195 wants to thank all members who purchased one or two raffle tickets in support of replacing the old fence around the course's maintenance shed.
The $5k in gift certificates can be used towards a golf stay and play package; a family vacation with lodging; boating, camping, and amusement park expenses; or at any Bass Pro Shop for outdoor product purchases.
We hope Jay and Jeanine enjoy the win, and the Lodge THANKS all who participated in this member-focused effort to improve our golf course.

The 2026 Nine & Dine Progressive Dinner was another success.

Won at the Elks Shootout in the spring, four couples (Marty and Tami Divis, Jarod and Amber Spiegel, Chuck and Linda Sahs, and Sam and Alyssa Hogeland) enjoyed a three-course meal prepared by Elks’ Chef Karen Jones.

The evening began with complimentary beverages while playing Holes #1, #2 and #6. The couples stopped for appetizers at Tim and Jeanne Schieffer’s, then played holes #12, #13, and #14 to Beth and Terry Millard’s house.

There, they enjoyed a turf and turf main course menu of beef medallions, mahi-mahi with a remoulade sauce, green beans, rolls, and wild rice with paired w**e choices.

Playing what holes they could against a beautiful fall sunset, the evening concluded at Jo and Neal Suess’ home with berry cobbler and ice cream with drizzle of raspberry sauce.

Who will win it next year? Only time will tell, but it definitely proved to be another fun night at the Elks!!

THE ELKS CELEBRATES LOCAL VETERANS
It was a packed house at last night’s Elks Veteran Outing banquet, even though the weather cancelled the golf portion of the day.

Veterans and their spouses were greeted near the club entrance with flying flags from each of the military branches. (Provided by Allan and Kim Grossnicklaus)

They enjoyed a hearty banquet with Cargill steaks grilled by Jim Morris and company; a delicious assortment of sides and homemade apple pie made by Elk’s Chef Karen Jones and served. Y our friendly staff; and they were treated to a large assortment of raffle prizes.

THE ELKS PAYS TRIBUTE
We live in the greatest country in the world because others fought - and fight - for our freedoms. Last night at the Elks Veterans Outing banquet, we honored several individuals: Dennis Vesely, who began serving in the U.S. Army in 1957 and reached the rank of Specialist E-4; one Korean War veteran, and two pilots who provide special flyovers for communities and veterans.

THE ELKS HONORS VETERANS
Even though rain cancelled the golf portion of Elks Lodge #1195’s Veterans Outing yesterday, we still honored our veterans with a special welcome from Gov. Jim Pillen, a moving flyover by pilots Kurt Muhle and Keith Harbor, and a $1,000 Freedom Grant presentation to the Norfolk Veterans Home.
