Another awesome preseason practice in the books!

Sunday was packed with learning, competition, and fun at Mitchell High School!

Our Cheer, 7U, 9U, 10U, 11U, and 12U teams put in another day of hard work as our coaches continued building skills, confidence, and teamwork. We also got athletes sized for jerseys and took another step closer to kickoff!

The day ended with an exciting Like Father, Like Son Flag Football Game featuring our 11U & 12U teams—a great way to bring our Panther families together. Then we wrapped up practice the best way possible... with 🍕 pizza for everyone!

This is what the Pikes Peak Panthers are all about—developing student-athletes, building friendships, and creating a family that supports one another on and off the field.

Today, we celebrate the fathers, grandfathers, coaches, mentors, and father figures who make a difference in the lives of our student-athletes every single day.

Behind every great athlete is someone who believed in them, encouraged them, held them accountable, and showed them what it means to lead with character. Whether you're cheering from the stands, coaching on the field, helping with homework, or providing support behind the scenes, your impact goes far beyond sports.

Thank you for the sacrifices, the lessons, the rides to practice, the game-day support, and the love you pour into our Panthers family.

We are grateful for the men who help shape the next generation of leaders both on and off the field.

Today we honor, celebrate, and reflect on the significance of Juneteenth.

On **June 19, 1865**, Union Major General **Gordon Granger** arrived in Galveston, Texas, and announced General Order No. 3, informing enslaved African Americans that they were free. This came more than **two years after President Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1, 1863**.

Juneteenth commemorates the day freedom was finally enforced for the last enslaved people in the Confederacy and serves as a powerful reminder of resilience, hope, and progress.

At Pikes Peak Panthers, we believe in building a community rooted in opportunity, respect, unity, and growth for every student-athlete and family we serve.

As we celebrate freedom and progress, we also recognize the importance of continuing to learn, lead, and uplift one another.

From A-skips to 150m sprints, the Pikes Peak Panthers officially kicked off our inaugural Track & Field season yesterday.

We’re proud to have 76 student-athletes, ages 5–16, registered for our very first season and excited about what’s ahead this summer. Huge thank you to all of our Panther families for trusting us with your student-athletes.

This is only the beginning.

Today, we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. 🇺🇸
