Alright, we’ve entered the part where we stop being subtle. 😂

You have FIVE DAYS left to get registered for Sticks & Stones 15K.

October 10 is waiting with Babcock trails, fall in the West Virginia mountains and 15K worth of reasons to be very proud of yourself when you hit the finish.

If you’ve been thinking about it, sending the race to your running buddy or repeatedly telling yourself you’ll sign up “later,” later has officially arrived.

Funny how quickly “why did I sign up for this?” turns into “when’s the next one?” once you cross the finish line. 😂

There’s just something about earning that finish after 15K through Babcock that makes the tired legs, dirty shoes and questionable mid-race thoughts worth it.

October 10 is your chance to find out for yourself, and we’re getting very close to the registration cutoff. Registration closes September 27.

There’s something about trail running at Babcock when fall starts creeping in. 🍁

The cooler mornings, the first hints of color in the woods and miles of trail that somehow make you forget you voluntarily signed up to run 15K of them. 😂

Sticks & Stones is coming up October 10, and as of today, you’ve got 𝟏𝟎 𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐥𝐞𝐟𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 before registration closes September 27.

The trails are a pretty big part of Sticks & Stones, but the people make the day. The running buddies who talk each other into signing up, the person you keep leapfrogging with on the trail, the strangers cheering at the finish and everyone who voluntarily agrees that 15K through Babcock sounds like a good Saturday plan. 😂

October 10 is getting closer and registration closes September 27. Tag the person you’d want beside you at the start line, then go ahead and make the plan official. 👟🌲

Fall at the Babcock Gristmill is one of those things that never really gets old. 🍂

The leaves changing around Glade Creek, the cooler air, the mill sitting right in the middle of it all… it’s about as West Virginia as October gets.

And on October 10, Sticks & Stones gives you a pretty good excuse to experience it with trail shoes on. 🌲

Registration closes September 27, so get signed up and come spend a fall Saturday at Babcock with us.

POV: you signed up for a 15K and Babcock decided to make it a whole experience. 🌲😂

Rocks, roots, climbs, creek views, long stretches through the woods and at least a few moments where you seriously reconsider your hobbies before remembering exactly why you signed up in the first place. That’s a pretty good description of Sticks & Stones.

We’ll be back out there October 10, and registration is only open through September 27. If a fall trail race through Babcock sounds like your kind of Saturday, get your name on that start list while you still can. 👟

For anyone following along from outside West Virginia, Babcock State Park was hit by significant flooding after the heavy rains we’ve had here this summer. Glade Creek rose enough to wash away two bridges, including the Narrow Gauge bridge traditionally used on the Sticks & Stones course.

The good news is that the trails are in good shape, we’ve been working with park staff, and we already have an alternate course in mind if the bridge isn’t replaced before race day. Same start. Same finish. Still point to point. Still happening October 10. 🌲

Registration closes September 27, so if the flooding had you wondering whether you should still sign up, the answer is yes. Come run Babcock with us.

15K sounds innocent enough until Babcock gets involved. 😂

For anyone new around here, Sticks & Stones is our October trail race through Babcock State Park in West Virginia, where the mileage comes with a healthy helping of rocks, roots, climbs and the kind of terrain that keeps things interesting. It’s challenging, beautiful and exactly the sort of race that makes you question your hobbies somewhere around the middle and love them again by the finish.

We’re racing October 10, and registration closes September 27. If this sounds like your kind of Saturday, get signed up and come see what Babcock has waiting for you. 👟
