Play Gap is thrilled to introduce our 7 new board members from across the country who will join in our mission of advancing equity and accessibility for adult women in sports. We look forward to seeing their impact within Play Gap and the communities we serve as they bring their unique skillsets and shared passion for women's sports to our Board of Directors.

In a devastating ruling, the Supreme Court has upheld that states can ban Transgender athletes from participating in sports consistent with their gender identity in schools and colleges. Ohio is sadly one of those states that has decided to actively ban Transgender athletes.

This ruling only emphasizes the importance of organizations like JRDA that will allow Transgender athletes to participate consistent with their gender identity and provide a safe space for them to do so. This ruling also emphasizes our organization being a safe welcoming space for Transgender athletes, especially those in college who may now not have a sport they can safely participate in.

We want to be clear that Transgender athletes are welcome, supported, and protected at Burning River Roller Derby.

The fun doesn’t stop!

Our last two summer tournaments will take place in the next two weeks- find us at Steel City 7s this weekend (organized by Pittsburgh Forge) and CinCity 7s next weekend (organized by Cincinnati Rugby Football Club).

We’ll be taking a well deserved week off after CinCity and picking up the last week of July with fall 15s practices.
