Another night ends in disappointment as the Guardians bullpen cannot hold on for the win 😔

Cade Smith has been one of the bright spots of the Guardians’ season.

As of posting time, he has an impressive 2.90 ERA and 12.7 K/9 heading into the All-Star Game.

Speaking of which, the Guardians right-hander has recently been named to his first selection, and the excited Smith had plenty to say about it: Story in comments 🔗👇

The future has arrived in Cleveland.

For the first time in their careers, Travis Bazzana, Parker Messick and Cade Smith are All-Stars, giving the Cleveland Guardians three first-time selections and showcasing one of baseball’s brightest young cores.

Travis Bazzana
• .255/.347/.420
• 7 HR
• 27 RBI
• First Australian-born Guardians All-Star

Parker Messick
• 2.85 ERA
• 106 strikeouts
• First Cleveland left-handed starting pitcher selected to the All-Star Game since Cliff Lee (2008)

Cade Smith
• MLB-leading 26 saves
• 2.97 ERA
• 57 strikeouts in 39.1 innings

Even more impressive, Bazzana and Messick become just the fourth and fifth rookies in franchise history to earn an All-Star selection, highlighting the next generation leading Cleveland’s AL Central push.

Tanner Bibee has turned his season around with one key adjustment.

After allowing seven runs and five home runs against Washington on May 25, the Guardians right-hander revamped his approach by making his sinker his primary pitch.

The results have been outstanding.

Over his last six starts, Bibee owns a 2.29 ERA in 39.1 innings, while opponents have struggled to square up both his sinker and his fastball.

It’s a change that has helped him pitch deeper into games, generate quicker outs, and rediscover the form that made him one of Cleveland’s top starters.

JosĂŠ RamĂrez is making encouraging progress in his recovery.

The Guardians star has had the stitches removed from his left hand following hamate surgery and could begin swinging a bat soon. He’s already resumed fielding drills, throwing from 140 feet, and gripping a bat as part of his rehab.

Cleveland is still targeting the original 5-to-7-week recovery timeline, putting RamĂrez on track to return in roughly 3-5 weeks if everything continues to progress smoothly.

Parker Messick deserved a better outcome.

The Cleveland Guardians rookie turned in another strong outing, allowing four runs over 6.2 innings, but weak contact and Cleveland’s continued struggles with runners in scoring position led to a tough-luck loss against Texas.

Messick finished with five strikeouts, a season-low 78.4 mph average exit velocity against, and lowered his case as one of the AL’s most consistent starters. His 2.85 ERA ranks among the league leaders and an All-Star selection could be next.

The Guardians simply couldn’t give him the run support he needed.

The Guardians may have just found the momentum they desperately needed.

Cleveland entered Sunday with a 2-33 record when trailing after seven innings before erupting for five runs in the eighth to stun the Mariners and secure a crucial series win.

Fresh off the injured list, Chase DeLauter delivered the game-tying two-run single before Rhys Hoskins ripped the go-ahead double to complete the comeback.

Manager Stephen Vogt called it “as big of a win as we’ve had all year,” and with Cleveland searching for a second-half surge, this comeback could be the spark that changes everything.

TW: Down three runs after seven innings? No problem. 💥 The Guardians exploded for five runs in the eighth to steal a huge win over Seattle, and maybe ignite their season.

Things got incredibly heated between Austin Hedges and Josh Naylor as the former teammates exchanged some intense words and explicit gestures during the Guardians and the Mariners' divisional battle.

While the fiery confrontation stole the spotlight, the Guardians ultimately got the last laugh by rallying late to secure a thrilling victory.

The Cleveland Guardians are getting one of their biggest bats back.

Chase DeLauter has returned from the injured list after missing two weeks with a rib injury, giving Cleveland a much-needed boost as it searches for more offense.

The rookie has been one of the Guardians’ brightest spots this season, and with the lineup struggling throughout June, his return couldn’t come at a better time.

Now Cleveland hopes the same player who torched Seattle to open the season can help ignite another turnaround.
