This Saturday I’ll be joining the conversation on UChicago Medicine’s Community Health Focus Hour on WVON 1690 AM.
We’ll be talking Back-to-School Nutritional Wellness- what our kids are eating, how it affects their energy and focus, and realistic ways families can build healthier routines during the school year.
I’ll be joining Dr. Edwin K. McDonald IV, MD, along with Leslie Fowler and Itiona Scott, bringing perspectives from medicine, school nutrition, wellness, education and community health.
Saturday, August 8 | 1–2 PM | WVON 1690 AM
Walidah Tureaud thank you so much. It’s an honor to partner with you.
Tune in and join us.

One thing I’ve learned: if my heart, worth, or integrity are ever questioned by someone whose heart, worth, or integrity I never questioned, our season has ended. And I still love them. How I felt about them was never contingent on how they felt about me.
Never again will I stay where I feel disrespected or unseen, or where the energy lands on me that I’m not good enough or valid enough for any reason.
Life has taught me to be grateful for the time instead of getting hung up on it ending. Take the lesson. Evolve. Share it. Grow some more.
Don’t be angry. If God wanted it to remain, it would have.
That pill used to be so hard to swallow.
Now, all I do is say, “Thank You.”
