Today’s Cafe Talk ☕️

Potty training is humbling… for everyone involved. 😂

Today’s parenting win? My toddler actually told me she had to go potty while we were out. The only problem? There wasn’t a bathroom anywhere nearby.

So there I was… hiding her with my body while she popped a squat on the curb. 🫣😂

Listen, when your toddler tells you they have to go, it’s your job to find a potty… even if “the great outdoors” becomes the backup plan.

Needless to say, a travel potty officially has a permanent spot in my car now. 🚗🚽

Tell me I’m not the only parent who’s had to get creative during potty training. What’s your funniest potty training story? 👇

Starting solids doesn’t have to feel overwhelming 🤍🥄

As a mom of 2 under 3, I’m always looking for ways to make feeding my girls easier while still giving them fresh, homemade options. The BEAR Baby Food Maker has been such a game changer — stainless steel parts for everything that touches food, pre-programmed settings for different foods, and settings that grow with your little one through different stages of feeding.

With my baby entering this exciting solids journey, I love having an all-in-one tool that keeps things simple without taking up my entire counter.

☕️ Cafe Talk with Mrs. Lyss

Just curious… 👀

If you’re exclusively breastfeeding, do you ever pump?

I’m wondering what everyone’s routine looks like. Do you pump after feeds? Build a freezer stash? Only pump when you’re away from baby? Or not at all?

No right or wrong answers—I genuinely love hearing what works for different moms. 💛

People say children need their parents to heal.

But no one talks enough about how children can heal their parents too.

Motherhood hasn’t been easy. It’s stretched me, humbled me, and uncovered parts of myself I didn’t even know needed healing. Yet somehow, through the tiny hands, the belly laughs, the bedtime snuggles, and the unconditional love of my babies, I’ve found pieces of myself I thought were lost.

My girls will never know just how much they’ve changed me. They’ve taught me patience, grace, forgiveness, and what it truly means to love without limits.

They didn’t just make me a mom.

They helped me become the version of myself I was always meant to be.

To my babies: thank you for healing my heart in ways you’ll never fully understand. ❤️

A slow brunch, good company, baby snuggles, and feeding my girl while still making space for myself. 🥹🤍

Motherhood has changed so much, but I’m realizing I don’t have to disappear inside of it.

Some days I’m able to get ready, look cute and bring my daughters to a restaurant (maybe even indulge in an espresso martini or mimosa 😉) while others look like cold coffee, one-handed meals, and breastfeeding at the table… and honestly? those moments deserve to be normalized too.

Still a wife.
Still a friend.
Still me.
Just softer now. ✨

POSTPARTUM PREECLAMPSIA

After being discharged with a clean bill of health BOTH pregnancies I still needed to monitor my blood pressures and BOTH times resulted in being readmitted to the hospital with preeclampsia and requiring a magnesium drip for 24 hours to reduce the risk of seizures. Thankful for listening to my body and the close eye my medical team provided. Unfortunately there is a lot of unknown regarding the diagnosis so it is that much more important to let other women know what to look for and ask about.

❤️ Send expecting or postpartum mama who needs to know the signs.
❤️ Comment your preeclampsia experience

May is Preeclampsia Awareness Month but we should be keeping the conversation going all year round!
