30 days ago, I started counting backwards.

Tomorrow, I start counting forward. 👑

What began as a countdown to divorce became something much bigger: a countdown back to me.

I talked about the ugly parts. The betrayal. The disappointment. The lessons. The women who reminded me I wasn’t alone. I went to court. I reset my space. I strengthened my circle. I poured into my babies. I kept building. And somewhere along the way, the story stopped being about what I was leaving and became about what I’m creating next.

That’s the part I’m most excited about.

New dreams. New memories. New rooms. New love when God says it’s time. New standards. New money. New opportunities. A softer life with a stronger woman living it.

I wasn’t burnt by the fire. I was built in it.

So this is my last post looking backward.

Tomorrow is Day 1.

Not Day 1 without him.

Day 1 of HER. 🥂👑✨

The shame that comes from broken families should fall on the men who broke them. And finally in today’s world, it is. Because our generation of women are making sure of it. We genuinely are finding peace, happiness, and more healthy love after leaving toxic men and the storms that come with them. I’m so proud of us! Especially my dam* self! Yayyyyy. Keep it up ladies 🥰💪🏽🤲🏽

I don’t want my children growing up watching their father disrespect me and eventually learning to disrespect me too. Too many of us watched some version of that growing up—and called it “staying for the kids.”

I’ve tried both. Staying for them and leaving for them. And I couldn’t choose the version that required me to sacrifice my dignity, because I would NEVER want my daughters to do that in their own marriages.

And the culture really IS changing, slowly but surely. 66% of Americans under 30 say unhappy couples stay in bad marriages too long—Women are also more likely than men to feel people stay too long.

Even more telling? 68% of Americans say their own childhood family experiences influence what they believe a healthy family should look like. Our babies really are watching what we normalize.

Teach your sons to be good humans. Good men. Good fathers. Good husbands. Teach them that love requires respect, loyalty, protection, provision, faithfulness and accountability—or be prepared for somebody’s daughter to choose herself and walk away.

The world is changing…for the better. 🙏🏽 We’re learning that preserving the appearance of a family isn’t more important than the health of the people inside it.

If we want to restore the family, we can’t keep putting the responsibility on women to endure dysfunction. Men have to submit themselves to God, honor their wives and devote themselves to their children.

Sometimes breaking the cycle looks like leaving it.
“I left for the kids.” ❤️‍🩹

Like sir…if that’s the story, why are we still here?! 😂 it’s the silent abuse for me. When I fight back in public, only those who’ve dealt with narcissistic abusers understand that the real sinister work is happening off the internet.

Thank God for paperwork because the proof is always in the black & white. The streets know receipts > stories. And only goofies & haters are entertaining stories from a man in his 40s with nothing to his name but a whole lot of anger, misery & audacity. 😭

Ladies, KEEP RISING. Build your life so beautifully that you never have to entertain a 🤡 again.

I’ve been going to court for months, handling my business, completing the necessary requirements and doing what I need to do to get this chapter CLOSED. Meanwhile, things have been moving hella slow when cooperation is nowhere to be found from my husband. Some people are so miserable they can’t stand to see you happy — with them OR without them.

But that’s the part I’m most proud of: I stood on business. I chose myself. I chose peace. And instead of running back to what hurt me, I’m running full speed toward a new life — and eventually, a new man who actually values me, protects my peace and treats me right. 🥂💕

The paperwork might be moving slow, but I’m not. 😘

L O L 🥳🥹🙌🏽🙃 Being a single mom isn’t the easy route… but whew, it’s a whole lot more peaceful than raising babies in a house full of tension, anger, and constant chaos. 😂💅🏽

Peace is underrated until you’ve lived without it. My girls deserve a home that feels safe, joyful, and full of love—even if it’s just us for now. ❤️

If you’re choosing peace over dysfunction, I’m rooting for you. ~ Countdown to my divorce ~ Day 20
