Do you have career resilience?

- How would I generate income if I had to...

These aren't questions to answer during a crisis.
These are questions you need to answer right now.

A few days ago, Lenese was thinking about career growth and future possibilities.

Today, she's asking different questions:

- What skills do I have that people would actually pay for?
- How quickly can I create income?
- Where do I start?

Listening to her navigate this crisis reminds me of something important:

𝗠𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗲, 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆.
𝗩𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗳𝗲𝘄 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗴𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗿.

We assume our value is obvious because we've been using it every day.

It isn't obvious until you're forced to explain it, package it, or sell it.

That's why 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 isn't just about having a good job.
Career resilience is about understanding your value independent of your job.

If your position disappeared tomorrow, could you clearly answer these questions...
• What problem do I solve?
• Who needs that problem solved?
• What is that solution worth?
• How would I generate income if I had to?

These aren't questions to answer during a crisis.
They're questions to answer before the crisis.

"𝘐 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘢 𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘬𝘶𝘱 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘯. 𝘔𝘺 𝘫𝘰𝘣 𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦."

That's what most people believe right up until it isn't.

A few days ago, Lenese had a job.
Today, she's figuring out how to replace her income.

The lesson isn't to live in fear.
It's to know your value beyond your employer.

𝗛𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀𝗻'𝘁 𝗲𝘅𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝘆𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲.
𝗦𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻’𝘁 𝗴𝗼 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲.

Since sharing Reeka's story in the previous post yesterday, I've heard the same questions over and over:

"𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘧 𝘐'𝘮 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘺?"
"𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘧 𝘐 𝘧𝘢𝘪𝘭?"
"𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘧 𝘐'𝘮 𝘸𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘐 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘰𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳?"

The irony?

Reeka isn't asking those questions anymore.

Her job was eliminated.

Now she's asking:
"𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘴𝘦 𝘥𝘰 𝘐 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘱𝘢𝘺 𝘧𝘰𝘳?"
"𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘪𝘵 𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘮𝘺 𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦?"
"𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘥𝘰 𝘐 𝘥𝘰 𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵?"

𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗕𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗣™ 𝗶𝘀𝗻'𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗷𝗼𝗯.
I𝘁'𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺.

It's about knowing:
✔️ What you have to offer
✔️ What your business needs to generate
✔️ What your next step is

Most women don't have an expertise problem.
They have a clarity problem.

They've spent years building valuable skills and experience. They just haven't translated them into a business opportunity yet.

Reeka didn't see this coming. Most people don't.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗾𝘂𝗶𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗷𝗼𝗯.
