Comment “MBM” for my Standout Skater System that is ALLLLL of my programs into one. You get what years of private skate lessons would give you all in one place. So comment “MBM”, I’ll send you the link to purchase my system that has taken hundreds of skaters to standout skaters!

We all know the judging can be all over the place in figure skating and yeah that’s true it can be, but here’s how you work the system to your favor.

Don’t wear the underwear, and I know your coach told you not to, I know it.

Literally work the system and the fastest way to tank your presentation is to wear giant white granny panties under your competition dress which I know you spent hundreds of dollars on.

I see it at every competition I go to and nothing drives a judge off the deep end then seeing the giant white underwear.

You said you wanted to compete so you can’t want to compete and be sheepish skating to your spot.

Again work the system. Stand tall and proud and stop using “oh I was nervous” as an excuse to hide because here’s the hard truth. There will be skaters in the group that have no problem doing this and that will make a better impression.

So remember to skate confidently and proudly.

5 minute warm ups are not a chance for the judges to see you trying. No they’re watching so be strategic about your warm up it is very important.

Smile!!!! Literally so simple!!! Smile and you’ll see it will make a big difference in your performance and score!

Comment “MBM” and learn how to work the system with my STANDOUT SKATER SYSTEM!

Trust me these make a biggest difference and you can thank me later!

Comment “👍” & I’ll elaborate more on this because when I say I literally had 30seconds I legit did because my lesson was just about to start but I needed to capture this common skating skill mistake that plagues a lot of skaters although it is a basic fundamental skating skill.

You’d be surprised at how many skater get away with doing this incorrectly for so long but it is something that shouldn’t be overlooked because jt applies to everything like stepping into spins, going from R over L backward crossovers to R over L forward crossovers, and more.

If you want me to explain this further give me a thumbs up👍 in the comments and I’ll elaborate more!

Comment “MBM” for access to all my programs which will prepare you for your best training on the ice and keep you from falling into these bad habits that a lot of figure skaters make!

Keep swiping for more bc it’s the truth➡️

And it’s even more legit because I’m a real full time figure skating coach that has trained hundreds of athletes from swizzles, twizzles, and all triples… so yeah I know not just from being a former team USA skater myself and because this is what my coaches told me were bad I know because I know as a coach myself I’ve seen these habits take skaters that had great potential and were improving to a complete halt and not recover.

But remember that’s why I’m here to bring more of this figure skating knowledge to light so you don’t have to make the same mistakes and save yourself lots of time, heartache, and let’s face it money bc mistakes are costly.

Remember comment “MBM” for all of my programs and to not neglect your off ice training or miss a chance to prepare yourself the best that you can to support all of your figure skating goals

10/10 bad… you can always tell what skaters at competition do this at practice because they not only can’t recover after a mistake they crumble.

Listen no one likes doing a crappy program, okay they just don’t. It sucks, you feel like you’ve failed and it does feel like the end of the world.

But you would much rather have a couple days like that at practice and learn how to work through them then be unprepared and bomb at a competition that actually mattered.

Stay disciplined at practice and don’t stop that music.

You can’t be taking 5,000 water and tissue breaks. You will survive. There is only so much time you get on the ice, don’t waste it.

The ultimate kiss of death - anyone who knows someone with this popping or circling issue knows it is a mental beast that is frustrating for everyone involved and one of the fastest ways to ending your progress, giving you no chance at real consistency, and constantly doubting yourself which just fuels the cycle again.

How to fight it, celebrate every small win, avoid embarrassment and neg

Comment “FLEX” and I’ll send you my flawless flexibility program that will give you the strength and flexibility to achieve fast spins on the ice!

Because listen… Your spin does NOT need a faster wind-up, okay, everyone thinks that more speed in will equal a faster speed and that not always the case.

Because if you can’t control the speed and create speed in your spin without any speed well adding more speed is just going to make the situation worse. adding more speed is just going to give you a faster version of the same wobbly, slowed-down, out-of-control spin.

And in competitive skating, SPINS ARE POINTS!

Stop treating them like the thing you squeeze in after jumps or something you have to do… like no they are money makers that could really change your skating game.

The spins that make you go WOW have more than speed

They have:
✨ Strong, controlled positions
✨ Beautiful extension + flexibility
✨ Active strength to HOLD those positions
✨ Body control to generate AND maintain speed
✨ Features that actually stand out on the ice

This is why Ive created Flawless Flexibility!

It’s not just “stretch until you’re bendier”

We’re building the flexibility + active strength + control your body needs to create bigger positions, maintain gorgeous extensions, and actually USE your flexibility while you’re spinning.

Because effortless-looking skating isn’t effortless.

It’s strength + flexibility + control

Want to start building spins people actually remember?

Comment “FLEX” and I’ll send you my Flawless Flexibility Program⛸️💗

Have a great weekend✨

Skating Skill Series Day 1 | Lesson 1: Beginner to Advanced Drill

Drill:
Outside spiral
Swing roll
Inside lunge
Repeat other side

- do this around the perimeter of the rink.

Beginner skaters - this will build, strength, your skills, and help develop control

Advanced skaters - use this drill and add lots of speed, work on your extensions, and elevate it anyway you like, it is a great warm up exercise to get your legs and body going and easy to implement into your routine.

Skating Series Day 1 | Lesson Zero: Basic Terms

Ahhhh so excited to start this!

And if you’re new here heyyyy I’m Mary Beth Marley | Professional Figure Skating Coach and I’m here to help you with your skating, get stronger, more flexible, and have better performances!

Not only am i a former team USA skater, world competitor, 3x national & international medalist, and triple gold medalist BUT…

I’ve been coaching competitive figure skaters for the past 13years! I’ve trained all levels, skills, body types, and commitment levels and let me tell you in these past 13years I have learned so much. Taking student from swizzles all the way through double axel and triples is SO hard it takes so much to develop an athlete and develop these skills as a skater. Because it’s one thing to be able to do them it’s another to be able to coach them.

So while, I jokingly tell myself I’ve been in the trenches working and learning haha that’s more than okay because I really know how to communicate how to do these skills that you see figure skating doing on the ice and now I can share that with you!

I’ve been wanting to do this for so long but like I said in the video, I’ve always gotten so in my head about what people know or don’t know which is why I haven’t started this sooner.

But that is why I’m calling this Lesson Zero because just generally saying these terms will set the foundation.

Super important to understand these terms.

Watch them start confidently executing consistent reps and hit more CLEAN programs in both practice and competition!

Because jumps, spins, overall performance, and consistency don’t magically appear… especially under pressure.

They’re TRAINED

Inside ELITE EDGE 30:

New Series🚨 but first, Comment “YES” for my Elite Edge 30 routine & Free Hip Mobility Workout!

Hi 👋 I’m mb  former team usa world figure skater, and coach giving you weekly helpful figure skating tips & routines that will make a difference in your skating.

And this post inspired me… and this is going to be the first of my myth busting series of all the myths about figure skating.

The first being “strength training will hurt young figure skaters”

Well that is a myth and the power of doing a proper strength program that focuses on the fundamentals of strength training, and building proper form, proper progression is literally your secret weapon.

Everyone focuses on “what will get the jumps the quickest” and solid jumps that can build to double, triples, and quads, are not based off of trendy exercises it’s rooted in proper form, alignment, strength, skill development, and proper progression.

Figure Skating is one of the trickiest sports to navigate and thats why you need a coach like me to share what really makes a difference in this crazy sport.

And a proper strength training program is something that can change your figure skater’s whole ability and performance on the ice.

So if your figure skater is just doing private lessons and off ice jumps…

Comment “YES” and let’s get your figure skater stronger so she can skate stronger.

What myth do you think I should tackle next😉

Now go have an amazing week!

Comment YES for my flexibility routine!

Heyyy, I’m MB  former team usa world figure skater, and coach giving you weekly helpful figure skating tips & routines that will make a difference in your skating.

The power of your flexibility and how it can impact your skating should not be under estimated or taken lightly

Figure Skating is one of the trickiest sports to navigate and thats why you need a coach like me to share what really makes a difference in this crazy sport.

AND flexibility is something that can change your figure skater’s whole ability and performance on the ice.

So if your figure skater avoids stretching and/or if you think all the stretching they need will eventually come…

Comment “YES” 👇 and let’s get your figure skater’s stretching game strong so she skate stronger⛸️

xoxo
