Your workouts shouldn’t just be hard—they should be getting you somewhere.
That’s where progressive overload comes in.
Progressive overload is the gradual increase of stress placed on your body during training. As your body adapts to a certain level of demand, you need to continue challenging it to create new adaptations.
And that doesn’t always mean adding more weight.
You can progressively overload by:
• Increasing weight
• Performing more reps
• Adding sets
• Increasing range of motion
• Improving your technique
• Adjusting tempo
• Increasing training difficulty
The goal isn’t to make every workout harder than the last. It’s to create measurable progress over time.
So instead of constantly switching exercises because you’re bored, try tracking your lifts, reps, and performance. Sometimes the most effective training is simply doing the basics consistently—and gradually getting better at them.
Train with intention. Progress with purpose.

23 CAC Tri Club athletes. One unforgettable race day.
This past weekend, our CAC Tri Club took on the Chicago Triathlon — the largest triathlon in the country — after months of training together since March.
Our team included seasoned triathletes and first-time racers, with some athletes crossing their very first triathlon finish line. From the swim to the bike to the run, it was incredible to watch their hard work come full circle.
And we’re celebrating a little extra after our CAC relay team took home 2nd place on the podium!
More than the results, we’re proud of the dedication, determination, and community our athletes showed throughout their training and on race day.
Congratulations to all 23 of our CAC Tri Club athletes! We’re so proud of you.

Motivation comes and goes. Accountability helps you keep showing up.
That’s one of the biggest benefits of group fitness.
When you sign up for a class, you’ve already made a commitment to yourself. Add an instructor who knows you, familiar faces in the room, and a community working toward their own goals—and suddenly, skipping your workout feels a little harder.
Group fitness can help you stay accountable by:
• Putting a workout directly on your calendar
• Creating a consistent routine
• Giving you an instructor to guide and challenge you
• Surrounding you with a community
• Making exercise something you look forward to
And you don’t have to feel motivated every time you walk through the doors.
Sometimes you just need a reason to show up.
Find a class you enjoy, put it on your calendar, and let the community help keep you moving.

Recovery is part of the workout — not an afterthought.
Those foam rollers you see around the gyms at CAC? They’re there for a reason. Foam rolling can help you move better, reduce feelings of muscle tension, and support recovery so you can keep showing up strong for your next workout.
Take a few extra minutes for recovery today. Your future workouts will thank you!!

3 Essential HYROX Drills Everyone Should Practice 💥
If you’re training for HYROX, don’t just train harder—train smarter. These three race-day staples deserve a spot in your routine:
🏐 1. Wall Balls
Build muscular endurance, improve squat mechanics, and practice finding a consistent rhythm to keep moving when fatigue sets in.
🚜 2. Sled Push & Pull
Power meets technique. Focus on strong body positioning, steady foot drive, and controlled effort to move the sled as efficiently as possible.
🔥 3. Burpee Broad Jumps
Develop full-body power, coordination, and endurance while practicing smooth, continuous movement to maintain momentum.
Mastering these movements can help you feel more confident, improve efficiency, and perform your best on race day.
Ready to train like a HYROX athlete? Join CAC’s HYROX Training Club and work with certified HYROX Performance Coaches who will help you prepare for every station. 💪
