More about Jessica:
Jessica Miller Tomlinson graduated from UNCSA with a BFA in Contemporary Dance. She was a dancer, choreographer, and teacher for Thodos Dance Chicago from 2005 - 2017, performing and touring nationally and internationally. Jessica produced her first evening-length performance, JMT /JLS Choreography, following a Grand Prize Win and Grant from the Joyce Theater Foundation’s A.W.A.R.D. Show! 2009.

Jessica’s Award Winning Choreography has been commissioned or produced by the Chautauqua Ballet Company, New Century Dance Project, Dance Wisconsin, Water Street Dance Milwaukee, Aerial Dance Chicago, Moonwater Dance Project, Hot Crowd, DanceWorks Chicago, Chicago Repertory Ballet, The Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, Idaho Dance Theatre, Spring To Dance Festival, The Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Dance For Life, Common Conservatory, Dance in the Parks, The Dance Gallery Festival, The MidWest RADFest, Visceral Dance Chicago, The Harvest Chicago Contemporary Dance Festival, Eisenhower Dance Detroit, SHIFT DANCE | FESTIVAL Albuquerque, and Thodos Dance Chicago. She has collaborated with Dance For Life's Our Voices Dance, Jacqueline Stewart/JAXON Movement Arts, Joshua Manculich, local Chicago band District 97, and the Andy Warhol Silver Clouds Exhibit at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago

Jessica was Adjunct Faculty at Northern Illinois University for two years. She has been a Guest Alumni Choreographer for UNCSA and an Artist-in-Residence at Eisenhower Dance Detroit, Columbia College of Chicago, and Washington and Lee University. She is a ballet instructor for Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Visceral Dance Chicago, Cerqua Rivera Dance Theatre, and South Chicago Dance Theatre, where she also served as Rehearsal Director for four seasons. Jessica is a faculty member for The Rooted Space and Pure Vibe Dance Center.

There's still time to register for our upcoming 3-Day Feldenkrais® Summer Workshop series taught by Taylor Mitchell!

This 3- day workshop will be a guided process of multiple Feldenkrais: Awareness Through Movement (ATM) lessons through verbal cues. The workshop will guide students to investigate new movement patterns through their own unique expedition of self-discovery through gentle, comfortable, and explorative movements through the intention of novelty. This 3-day process will facilitate a space to learn, connect, and exchange curiosity. Get ready to Reimagine / Rediscover / Renew!

✨New Class beginning Tuesday, June 30th✨

Int/Adv Modern/Contemporary
w/ Jessica Miller Tomlinson
Tuesdays 11:45am-1:15pm

This class will focus on developing technical strength while encouraging freedom of thought and movement interpretation. Class will incorporate floor work and a mix of modern techniques. Participants will work on seamlessly connecting movements, exploring core/distal relationships, and emphasizing the importance of breath. Dancers will focus on developing performance quality and artistry while striving for technical virtuosity and a personal artistic voice. Each class will begin with a warm-up and progress to center phrase work rooted in exploration and technical prowess.
