ENCHANTED BEDROOM at Hollowberry Manor Creative Retreat

This cozy, inviting room is a great spot to "hide away." This bedroom is the first of three bedrooms located in the former servants quarters. We understand it may have been the bedroom of the Lady's maid.

Adorable forest creatures adorn the walls, and soft velvet curtains block out the light, heat, and chill from the outdoors. Two antique twin beds provide a comfortable landing place as you look for hidden treasures in the wall art. Don't worry, Sir Foxington, Lord Oaksbury, and Master Buckingham will keep an eye on things while you're away crafting! These charming fellows are on constant watch over the manor.

The finer details include the burnt orange velvet drapes, an enchanting forest microcommunity, and antique wall sconces. Enjoy the charm and treasures this enchanting bedroom provides.

Light: Light or Dark, with adjustable curtains
Bathroom: Degas

Things to note: To access this bedroom, you'll walk up the back staircase (the servants stairs). The only rooms used by this private staircase are Enchanted, Harmony, and Mysterium, and the Degas bathroom. Both beds have outlets adjacent to the bed.

🍃🌿 Conservatory Reveal 🍃🌿

This Conservatory reveal is well past due. My original goals had the conservatory ready last fall, but try as I might, everything was behind schedule, including the other bedrooms. When I finished the other bedrooms in February this year, I immediately turned my attention to the Conservatory, as it was the last interior space to get a makeover.

Fate had other ideas! It seemed like everytime I walked into the conservatory, something broke somewhere else in the house! We've had to deal with frozen pipes/water damage, broken toilets, the fridge going out, the microwave failing, a pine tree falling over, sewer line clogs, doorknobs falling off...the list goes on and on. While we've kept up with the unexpected tasks, the Conservatory has stood patiently to the side waiting its turn.

These last 3 weeks, I turned on my tunnel vision and ONLY worked on the conservatory, putting in some 14 hour days in the process. With my two daughters assisting, we've managed to reach our first goal to get it cleaned and furnished. And it's just beautiful!

It's not finished. Parts of this house will never be "finished." The windows still need repairing, I'd still like to get the brick exposed someday, and there is still some more decorating to do. But in the meantime, I plan on enjoying this stunning space, with its beautiful light, open space, and calming influence. What makes it even better is the way it opens up the Drawing Room! Having the French doors open makes both rooms feel bigger and lighter. It truly is a joyful space!

BATHROOM HIGHTLIGHT: Degas

This bathroom is small, but mighty! Located upstairs in the old servants quarters, it serves 3 smaller bedrooms. Decorated in soothing colors and clean lines, we hope this bathroom is calming and comforting. This 1925 cast iron clawfoot tub is original to the home and is still going strong. Enjoy a hot bath that stays hot! Enjoy the waterfall-style showerhead as well - it may be the best shower experience in the whole house!

Have you ever been at a retreat and just needed a quick "palate cleanser" project? Maybe you're working on something intense and need a break, or are just stuck with an inspiration block...

Well, here is a fun project for you! We've gathered old bricks we've found around the property and cleaned them up. They are waiting on a shelf in the craft workroom, along with some acrylic paints and brushes. You can pick one and paint the "spine" to be your favorite book! When we are ready to do some landscaping (after the exterior of the house is fixed up), your artwork will be a permanent part of Hollowberry Manor!

Opulence is all about lavish extravagance, driven by the gold details, and the peacocks of course! This large bedroom is on the main floor with a private entrance (through the exterior door in Wanderlust), and 1 stair + threshold for entry. The fine details include the gold velvet drapes, gold box trim, velvet bedding, and small French touches. Enjoy the luxury and calm this opulent bedroom provides.
