Teammates turned opponents. 🤝⚽️

Last night, High Point University Men's Soccer players Ryan Behrmann, Noah Behrmann, and Aidan Morrison faced off against fellow Charlotte Independence II teammate and University of Maryland Men's Soccer player Marco Wright.

It was a great battle between two programs ranked in the Top 10, with Maryland earning the 1-0 win. After the final whistle, the teammates came together once more for a photo. 👏

A milestone secured! 🧤 - Congratulations to Independence Soccer Club Gastonia Technical Staff member Chad Swanner on earning his D License!

Chad has been coaching with Independence Soccer for the last five years. While coaching the Boys U15 Gaston County State team, he has also been an integral part of our goalkeeping union, helping prepare our players between the posts.

"The coaching license helped me understand myself more as a coach, but also challenged me to understand that there is so much more to learn and develop in myself, which in turn will help me develop the players I coach. If I seek players to push themselves to be better, then so should their coach."

Chad, you have been an incredible addition to the Independence family, and your impact within the Gaston community does not go unnoticed. Thank you for bringing the energy every day and ensuring our players have the best experience possible.

What a special evening with Charlotte Independence!

Last night, we had the pleasure of watching our First Team secure a 5-0 win at Matthews Sportsplex! As part of our Club Youth Night, players from our Mint Hill program participated in Starting XI Walkouts, served as Ball Kids, played in a 7v7 scrimmage, competed in horse races, and came together for one big photo after the match.

One of the most special moments came late in the match with Charlotte Independence player and Independence Soccer MLS NEXT Homegrown coach Enzo Martínez. All match long, his players were chanting his name, hoping to see their coach get into the game. Once Enzo subbed on, he wasted no time finding the back of the net and celebrating with his players in the stands! 🥹💙

Thank you, Charlotte Independence, for giving our players and families a night they will never forget!
