This past weekend, we all felt how a cheer can fuel you, how other runners can push you, and how you can inspire by showing up.

Your next opportunity to show up, inspire and be inspired is December 6! Cross-Country For Youth is hosting their first community 5K Run/Walk and Fun Run.

This is open to all, and will be held at McAlpine Greenway at 11 am. Registration fees go directly to the program, whose mission and objective is to impact the lives of youth with the skills they need to run Cross Country and live healthy lives with character.

Come and be a part of the day. The next generation of runners will thank you.

Running can often feel like a safe haven — a time when we feel in control of an otherwise really uncontrollable world. It can feel structured in times of chaos. It can feel stable in times of instability.

Right now in Charlotte, many don’t feel in control, structured or stable.

On Wednesday at 6:15pm, will meet at (1018 Jay Street in Wesley Heights). , a Latino organization fighting to defend the community, will be there to inform runners about their rights.

This is just one example of our community coming together. We run beside all.

This could easily be one of those weeks that offers an excuse - instead, let it offer a challenge.

The challenge of a certain quiet joy in lacing up anyway, in stepping out into the chill and letting the rhythm take over. The streets shine, your breath clouds, and for a few miles, it’s just you, a sniffle or two, and the sound of rain meeting pavement.

Remember, the best runs aren’t the easy ones. They’re the soaked, messy, unforgettable ones that remind you who you are. These are the runs that don’t make the highlight reel, but they build something far better — mental resolve.

For almost a decade, the has come together to honor a legacy of service and bravery. The is a tribute to Richard Sheltra, a volunteer firefighter who made the ultimate sacrifice fighting a multi-alarm fire in April of 2016. He was only 20 years old.

With proceeds benefiting the Richard Sheltra Memorial Foundation ()❤️, your race entry helps provide resources, equipment, and scholarships to volunteer first responders— continuing his impact far beyond the finish line. 🤜🏾🤛🏼
