LKN Krakens

Coming off a Gold Bracket Championship, LKN Krakens Errickson kept the momentum going this weekend, finishing as Silver Bracket Runners-Up!

The road there wasn’t easy. After a tough 0-2 start in pool play, these players showed their resilience and fought their way back. They answered back with a dominant 8-1 victory in their first bracket game, punching their ticket to the championship game!

Congratulations to Ari L. for being named MVP of the game!

The championship was an absolute battle, with every player giving it everything she had from the first pitch to the final out.

The offense for the day was led by Stella G. who had 4 hits, including a triple and 4 RBIs. Ella F. and Kylee D. also had 3 hits each.

There were some strong defensive moments, resulting in six shutout innings for the day. In the circle, Caylin R. led with 11 K’s and allowed only 4 hits in more than 7 innings.

While we would have loved to bring home another championship, this weekend gave us some great learning moments. Every game — the wins, the tough innings, and the close losses — gives these players an opportunity to learn, grow, and get better together.

We’re proud of the way they responded after a tough start, battled their way into the championship, and never gave up.

LKN Krakens Green kicked off their fall season and jump to 16u with a thriller. The team won both pool games making them the number 2 seed, then rolled through the first bracket game. The championship was a battle. The Krakens found themselves down 3-1 at the end of the 2nd, but the team rallied in the top of the 3rd to tie it up. They held the tie through the bottom of the 3rd as time expired. The team took a 1 run lead in the top of the 4th, but weren't able to hold on in the bottom of the 4th.

E. Fauth, C. Prillaman, and L. Crane led the offense, each posting a .500 batting average. R. Hicks, S. Webber, and S. Comiskey did a nice job in the circle allowing just 14 runs over 4 games. L. Vandeventer turned the first double play of the season and the defense did their jobs, having their pitcher's backs all day!

The team is looking forward to their next opportunity, in the meantime they will focus on learning from this tournament and so they can come back even better!

Congratulations to one of LKN Krakens originals on her commitment to Truett McConnell University! Ava it’s been a privilege to watch you grow in the sport you love and find your place! Good luck on your next chapter! Ava you’re going to do great things!

We had an amazing day at the ballfields yesterday with our annual LKN Krakens 2026 Hit-a-thon! We were able to raise $8462 as an organization. A huge thanks to all of our volunteers and donors who made this event possible. There are too many individuals to name! Multiple families donated their time to help plan, set up, run and break down the event. Other volunteers donated food, supplies, and drinks. Some businesses - City Barbers, Mass Acceleration, Schwinn CPA, Comiskey Oral Surgery, and In Motion Fitness bought “sponsor balls” for the event to make the hit-a-thon even more exciting! Our Coaches and Krakens staff were out in full force manning the field, the concession, setting up slip and slides, and tossing. Coach Errickson was able to lend us their softball field. It definitely shows that these girls are well loved and we hope all the families attending had a great time!

LKN Krakens Green fought through the rain, the heat, injuries, and even some sickness for a successful and enjoyable weekend of softball at Shipyard Park.

Friday evening starting off with a commanding win. B. Paxton scored 3 runs and T. Medlin had 2 RBI's to lead the offense. E. Tweed pitched 2 scoreless innings with 3 K's and S. Webber followed up with 2 K's of her own.

Saturday was a different story. The rain came as the first game started and the top of the 1st went for 55 minutes. The Krakens went through 4 pitchers, but the conditions were just too difficult. The offense got their chance, but at that point the rain stopped and the score was just too lopsided to overcome in one inning.

The top of the 1st in game 2 started out well, but yet again the rain came. It got so bad the pitchers reverted to slow pitch. Eventually the game was halted, but not before giving up 8 runs. Once play resumed the team quickly got out of the inning and went to work on offense. Down 8-0 they battled back to make it 9-6, but just simply ran out of time.

Sunday it was hot, but the team took game 1 to make it to the Silver Championship. S. Webber pitched in relief and shut down the opposing offense throwing scoreless ball and surrendering only 1 hit and no walks. The offense did their job scoring 4 runs in 2 innings.

The championship game was well played on both sides, but the Krakens fell short. Hard line drives caught by 2b and 1b in the top of the 1st and 3rd resulted double plays at 1st base and really limiting the offense. It was a battle to the end!

The Krakens were able to enjoy some time at the beach as a team, some were able to visit historical sites around Charleston, and there was plenty of time spent playing games and hanging out. This was a great way to close the 14u chapter in their softball journey!

A. Schwinn - 1.000 Batting Average including a triple
E. Fauth - .667 Batting Average including 2 doubles
V. Nappier - .500 Batting Average
T. Medlin - .500 Batting average and 4 RBI
T. Riddle - .500 Batting Average and 3 RBI
C. Prillaman earned an MVP for her overall performance including multiple big plays
E. Tweed tallied up 11 strikeouts
S. Webber added another 3 strikeouts
Krakens pitching, despite awful conditions on Saturday, kept battling and did their part to help the team.
Krakens offense lived by their motto "Find a way" holding an OBP of .565 for the tournament and and OPS of 1.041.
