Our chapter was delighted to host a Patriotic concert to our community to celebrate America250! The concert featured patriotic music by the The Georgia State Defense Force Band under the direction of the incredibly talented Terry Lowry. The Carroll County JROTC presented the colors and Girl Scout Troop 50013 led us in the Pledge of Allegiance. We are grateful for all of our Veterans groups, civic groups, businesses, and all those in the community who supported this special concert celebrating all of our Patriots who sacrificed their lives and fortunes for our freedom.

Our chapter has been helping the Carroll County Honor Flight Mission 1 for several months preparing letters and organizing them, sharing details of the trip with other Veterans to sign up, recruiting guardians. We finally got to see the results this past week when 25 Veterans and their guardians boarded a Delta Flight bound for our nation’s capital to explore the Monuments, experience the changing of the guards at Arlington National Cemetery, and share a meal with their fellow Veterans. One of our very own HODAR’s was a guardian and another HODAR played Bagpipes to help welcome them all home. Some of our members attended the late night Welcome Home celebration, but we all rallied behind this wonderful trip to support it and our chapter was recognized on the board of supporters. What an honor to help and serve those who served us in protecting our Constitutional rights and defending our freedom. May God Bless all of our Veterans and God bless America! 🇺🇸

Celebrate the USA's 250th anniversary with the Georgia State Defense Force Band at the Carrollton Center for the Arts, August 29 at 2pm! After the concert, enjoy a reception in the center's lobby. September 17-23 we are celebrating the signing of our Constitution. We have set up a display at the Villa Rica Public Library for the entire month of September featuring a copy of the Constitution along with other items to help commemorate this event. There are also some really good books to consider checking out. We welcome the community to come visit the display to celebrate the document that protects our rights as Americans. 🇺🇸

🇺🇸 Honoring Our Local Veterans Through the Gift of a Letter 🇺🇸

A group of our DAR daughters from the Abraham Baldwin Chapter, NSDAR recently gathered at Impact West Georgia to sort, organize, and carefully pack personal letters written to Veterans from our local community who will be traveling on the upcoming Carroll County Honor Flight: Mission 1. ✈️🇺🇸

We are honored to play a small part in making this experience even more meaningful for these deserving Veterans. Every letter represents a reminder that their service, sacrifice, and dedication to our nation have not been forgotten.

Thank you to all of our DAR daughters who gave their time to help prepare these special messages, and to everyone in our community who took the time to write a letter.

The Abraham Baldwin Chapter, NSDAR, is proud to partner with the Carrollton Center for the Arts and the Georgia State Defense Force concert celebrating our nation’s heritage!

The Georgia State Defense Force traces its roots back to the Revolutionary War when it was known as the Georgia Militia—making this a truly meaningful performance for those who appreciate America’s history.

⭐ A Revolutionary War/Nathan Hale Medley
🍑 A Georgia Medley
🥁 Patriotic marches and inspiring musical selections

For the grand finale, the Georgia State Defense Force Band will be joined by special guest musicians, filling the stage with an incredible display of musical talent!

If you got a chance to attend the Atlanta Braves game on July 4, then you saw one of our special chapter members assisting with the cannon display as part of the pre-game show. Rachel Word joined her husband, Chad Word with the Sons of the American Revolution to bring patriotic festivities to those attending the game. Chad was part of the Flag Corps with the SAR.

The evening was made even sweeter as the Braves beat the Mets 14-3.
