Weekly Information 9/13

All workouts this week M-F are at their normal times and duration.

On Saturday 9/19 there is no workout for any Group.

For swimmers signed up for the meet this weekend, I will have more specific warm-up and other meet information later this week as I receive it.

Hopefully you all read Adam’s email last week and are planning on attending our annual parent’s meeting Wednesday 5:30-6:30 PM upstairs in the Alumni Lounge. All families are asked to send a representative to the meeting.

Remember this is a parent run organization, we rely on you to make it work. If you have any skills that you think might benefit the team, there are always volunteer opportunities.

Fall Swim Lessons begin tomorrow, 9/15.
Please have your swimmer to the pool 10 min before their start time.
Swimmers should have appropriate swim attire, goggles and a cap or hair tie if your swimmers hair might get in their eyes.
Please do not hover near the edge of the pool, it is distracting for the class.

Registration for Fall II Lesson will open up for returning swimmers on Monday Nov 5. It will open for new swimmers on Nov 7.

Ask your instructor if your swimmer is ready to move up in lessons or to join the team before registering for Fall II.

If you are the parent or guardian of a returning swimmer you must have them registered before their first day of practice. Go to swimsaluki.com and register now. If you are the parent of a swimmer that is new to the team and you missed our evaluations, you can email me, Coach Thomas Huggins at [email protected] to schedule an eval.

Registration for the 26-27 Season
opens on 8/16

We are hosting evaluations for new swimmers on August 17-19 at the SIU Rec Center at 5 PM each night. To sign up for an evaluation for either the Team or our lesson program use the following link:

Swimmers will be evaluated in a first come first serve basis. Our staff will evaluate swimmers in a one on one situation. When the swimmers’ eval is done the team ready swimmers are welcome to join the team instructional workout also taking place at this time. Your swimmer may attend one day or all three. If you are not able to attend one of these days and wish to have your swimmer evaluated please contact [email protected].

The first day of our normal workout schedule will take place on Monday Aug 17.

Lesson registration will open at 6 PM on Monday August 17. The first day of class will be Monday Sept. 14.

Weekly Information 7/19

All swim workouts M-F this week are at their normal times and duration.

There is no morning, dryland or Saturday workout this week.
Attached you will find the timeline, warm-up assignments and timer assignments.

SALU must provide one timer/session for the meet. I will add a worker assignment sign-up to the events page on our website. Also remember that all swimmers in the 400 and 800 FR must provide a timer and a counter.

Next week July 27-31 all afternoon swims will be at their normal times and duration. All swimmers are invited to bring a friend to workout to see if Saluki Swim Club is something they might want to try for the 26-27 season.

All dryland for July 27-31 will all be more game based.

Evaluations for new swimmers will be August 17-19. 5-6 PM each night.

The first day of practice for the 26-27 season will be August 24.

The first day of Fall lessons will be September 14.
