We are pleased to announce that Kyle Kraus is the recipient of the 2025–2026 Christian Ciskal Memorial Foundation Scholarship Award.
With many impressive submissions, the decision was not an easy one. However, Kyle was selected unanimously by the Ciskal Family and the members of the Christian Ciskal Memorial Foundation. His dedication, growth, and character made him stand out in a remarkable way.
Over the past year, Kyle has demonstrated exceptional perseverance and commitment. He continues to show his love for the game of hockey and the comradery of team sports — values that extend far beyond the scoreboard. In addition to being a multi‑sport athlete, Kyle has worked hard at school and balanced personal commitments with maturity and discipline, further highlighting the qualities that make him deserving of this honor.
Kyle has also been a devoted participant in the annual Christian Ciskal Memorial Tournament, consistently giving back to the community and supporting the mission of the foundation. His involvement reflects a genuine desire to contribute, uplift others, and honor the spirit of the tournament.

Through our annual memorial tournament, fundraising efforts, and basket raffle, The Christian Ciskal Memorial Foundation proudly awards both hardship scholarships and high school scholarships. Our hardship scholarships are designed to support families within our community who may be struggling to afford sports activities or equipment for their child.
Our goal is simple: to help kids stay engaged in the sports they love, regardless of financial challenges.

We are excited to announce that the Christian Ciskal Memorial Foundation has awarded its first hardship scholarship to a family within the Cheektowaga Warriors community. Through this scholarship, we were able to cover a player’s ice bill, allowing them to remain active in the sport they love while easing the financial burden on their family.

We look forward to continuing Christian’s legacy by supporting even more young athletes in our community.
