Let's Go Warriors
Season-credentialed 2013-22, now sharing what I learned from Steph Curry, Draymond, Kerr + others about enjoying the moment and loving the process š«¶šš
Georges Niang was already a Warrior nine years ago! š
I dug up this footage I filmed during his original stint with the Golden State Warriors in 2017. His stay was brief, but Niang immediately seemed to fit in ā especially while joking around with Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant.
Thereās more to basketball than wins and losses. Sometimes itās the chemistry, camaraderie and feeling of belonging that make someone seem like a natural part of a team.
Nine years later, it has all come full-circle. Georges is back, and the jokes with No. 30 can resume right where they left off. š«¶šš
Did you remember Niangās original stintāand what are you most excited to see from him this time?
Give him a S/O in the Comments š
Flash back to 10/7/2017, the China trip: easymoneysniper, Wardell Curry, and Georges Niang are cracking up at the back of the line, waiting to get into the arena for Media Day in Shanghai. Some kind of delay had the whole team just hanging out ā and thatās when I knew Georges was gonna fit in right away with the Dubs.
Took me a while to dig this up from our YouTube channel, but I remember thinking at the time: āIdk who this Niang guy is, but he might be a Warrior for life.ā Unfortunately his stay was brief ā after training camp he played for Santa Cruz, never got called up, then got picked up by Utah, soon becoming the enemy.
Sure, times were simpler then, but I always wanted to show thereās more to basketball, more to being part of , than wins and losses. Thereās nothing like that feeling of being part of a team ā put the narratives aside and enjoy the intangibles. Itās come full-circle, nine years later. Georges is back with the ! (And nah, I donāt expect KD ever to come back ā thatās IYKYK.) But let the jokes and camaraderie with 30 resume, and weāll pick up that chemistry right where we left itā¦

The Golden State Warriors are signing Brandon Williams ā and the clues were there. š
Michael Scotto of HoopsHype first reported Golden Stateās interest. From there, we connected Williamsā close relationship with DeāAnthony Melton to the Warriorsā cap sheet and asked whether the Dubs already had him āin their back pocket.ā
That was our conclusion on July 13. Now, the prediction has come true.
You can find the original cap-sheet analysis near the top of the Letās Go Warriors Substack site at letsgowarriors-dot-com ā itās currently the fourth article down:
āDo the Warriors have Brandon Williams in their back pocket?ā
What kind of role do you think Williams can play for Golden State?

Wāsupper, Ballhalla and DubNation! With two straight losses, the Valkyries (25-11) now have to try to hold their No. 2 seed, only a half-game ahead of the Vegas Aces. Not only that, they have not yet beaten the Minnesota Lynx in seven tries dating back to the inaugural season last year.
Itās a step-up retry, this time at Target Center in Minneapolis against Olivia Miles and Napheesa Collier. Can the Valks finally beat them?

NEW PODCAST! šļø š¬
Did the Golden State Warriors Choose Porzingis Over a Trade? Dunleavyās āTalent > Availabilityā + Full 30-Minute Press Conference (transcript at YouTube)
šµ search Spotify for āLetās Go Warriorsā
Warriors GM Mike Dunleavy Jr. made a fascinating comment during his latest media availability: Golden State had to make a choice between ātalent and availabilityā when constructing this roster ā and ultimately āleaned a little bit more towards talent.ā
So... who was he talking about?
Tonight we're going down the Warriors cap sheet and trying to reverse-engineer what that decision might have looked like.
Steph Curry obviously isn't going anywhere. Draymond Green worked collaboratively with the Warriors this summer to create additional flexibility. Moses Moody is injured and occupies a much smaller salary slot. Jimmy Butler presents his own enormous salary and injury complications.
Which brings me to Kristaps Porzingis.
Could Golden State have pursued a different path with KP rather than ultimately committing roughly $20 million per season to him? And if the Warriors had prioritized availability over talent, what could that money realistically have bought?
We'll pull up the NBA salary lists LIVE and look for alternatives ā perhaps two players around the ~$10 million range, one different player around ~$20 million, or whatever other realistic possibilities emerge.
And here's the important disclaimer: I'm not reporting that the Warriors tried to trade Porzingis or that any of the hypothetical trades we discuss were actually offered. The NBA's CBA and transaction rules are extraordinarily complicated. This is an exercise in reverse-engineering Dunleavy's comments and asking a simple question:
If you wanted the Warriors to ādo somethingā this offseason...what exactly should they have done?
We'll also briefly address the resurfaced Anthony Davis/LeBron James Warriors speculation and put that idea through the same cap-sheet reality check.
Bring your trade ideas to the live chat. Instead of just saying Golden State should've made a move, let's see if we can actually find the move.
Topics: Kristaps Porzingis, Mike Dunleavy Jr., Warriors trades, Warriors salary cap, Steph Curry, Jimmy Butler, Draymond Green, Anthony Davis, LeBron James, Golden State Warriors roster, NBA offseason
