Juniors, class of 2028, August 1 has come and gone.
That date is when in-person recruiting opens. Off-campus contact, unofficial visits with real recruiting conversation, and official visits.
Which means coaches spent the summer quietly building a list of who they intend to bring to campus.
So there are two kinds of athletes right now. The ones already on that list, and the ones sending a first email into an inbox that took on hundreds of others in a single morning.
If your athlete has not reached out yet, this week is the week. Not October. This week.
And if they do not know what to send, that is exactly what Modules 4 and 5 of my course are for. They go from nothing to a sent, personalized email.

Fall testing season is close, and the most common mistake I see is athletes training hard right up to the line and arriving at the test exhausted.
Two weeks out, volume comes down and intensity holds. You are not building fitness anymore. You are getting sharp.
And write the plan before you sit down. The number of very good athletes who produce a bad 2K because they went with feel instead of a plan is high.
Save this and come back to it a couple of weeks before your test.
If you want a training plan built around a specific test date, that is something I do separately. Send me a DM.
Module 2 of my course, Get Recruited for College Rowing, covers what to report to coaches and what THEY read into it. Link in bio.

⭐️Parents, here’s one thing you can do today that will immediately elevate your daughters recruiting process -
👉 Help her create a recruiting-specific email address.
Not yours. Not her school one.
One that looks like this:
firstname.lastname.gradyear@gmail
Why this matters:
• It signals professionalism to college coaches
• It keeps all recruiting communication organized
• It teaches her ownership of the process
• It avoids missed emails buried in school inboxes
Recruiting is evaluation, on and off the water.
Coaches notice details.
And here’s the bigger picture:
When she takes responsibility for communication, she starts stepping into the level required to row in college.
Small action. Big signal.
If you’re not sure what comes after the email setup, DM me “PLAN” and I’ll point you in the right direction.
