Today’s menu: 4h ride & 20 min πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈ (first 🧱 since IMTX) βœ… and still more degrees than miles πŸ˜‚

The extremely sweaty β€œsummer energy” is here 😎🀨πŸ₯΅ … for us Texans that means sweating excessively regardless of time of day, questioning our fitness because the pace/power that usually feels easy no longer feels easy , sunglasses need windshield wipers so you can actually see the road , and no liquid stays cold enough for more then an hour if you are lucky 🀣

I would still rather be hot than cold but summers here in the Woodlands are def tough! Thankfully we have air conditioning unlike the Europeans 🀨

You also get really good at pacing by heart rate AND hydration/fueling because every little mistake gets magnified πŸ”Ž in these conditions πŸ₯΅

My 2 non negotiables for a long summer ride:

⛽️ Precision Fuel & Hydration carb mix + carb/electrolyte mix
🌑️ CORE Body Temperature to monitor my core temperature

Would you rather be HOT or COLD? Comment below ⬇️

2027 70.3 Worlds in Chattanooga, TN? YES, please πŸ˜ŽπŸš‚πŸ₯³

I did the very first 70.3 Worlds in Chattanooga back in 2017 and I absolutely loved it! And before anyone says BUT the πŸŠβ€β™€οΈ is downriver - not to worry - it wasn’t!

The course was completely different of what the chatty 70.3 is except for the πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈ course which i think was the same.

πŸŠβ€β™€οΈ was actually across and against the current for the first half, then we did finish with the current

πŸš΅πŸ»β€β™€οΈ course was also very different and we climbed Lookout mountain which was an absolute blast and the bike course in its entirety was dynamic and FUN!

I think it’s time to figure out where to qualify πŸ˜€

Who else is excited about this venue?

Working on the engine πŸ“ˆ and brainstorming an update or two for the πŸš€ itself πŸ˜±πŸ˜€πŸ˜‰ … we should see soon πŸ€—πŸ€«πŸ’ƒπŸ»

How is this for a blast from the past πŸ˜€!

16 summers ago 🀯, still forgetting to unclip at times 🀣 (haven’t we all fallen over once or twice?) , quickly dreaming BIG and truly enjoying the process to this day - it would be 3 years before I did my very first Ironman and as they say the rest is history 🀝

Dream big kids (and adults) πŸ’«

Time trial Tuesday sweaty edition 🀠 because it’s June in TX which means outdoor temps & humidity are πŸ“ˆ and slowly but surely reaching the obnoxious level πŸ˜‚πŸ₯΅πŸ«

It also means when training outdoors that the πŸš΄πŸ»β€β™€οΈpower or πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈ pace will be a lower at the same HR which doesn’t mean you are not getting more fit, it just means your body is dealing with the extreme elements πŸ₯΅ and needs to adjust πŸ‘. And finally, staying hydrated becomes a full time job!

Happy training πŸ˜€

First time back outside on the πŸš€ since IMTX & we were vibing πŸ˜‰πŸŽΆπŸŽ€ even if we have slowly but surely entered the part of the year when winning a wet tshirt or jersey contest is always a possibility πŸ˜‚πŸ₯΅πŸ’¦

As I wait for to respond about my 2027 registration thanks to my β€œextraordinary” modeling abilities 🀣🀣🀣 (I am still hopeful they will 🀞🀞🀞), here is a little trip down memory lane on this Friday ⬇️

10 years ago yesterday!!!! 🀯🀠😱

My very first Ironman Texas and one I’ll certainly never forget! What started out as I just want to do a race with similar conditions to Kona so I can get more experience racing in the heat & humidity turned to SO MUCH MORE and I started calling the Woodlands my home 🏑 2.5 years later πŸ˜€

May 14th, 2016: The laat time race was in May - can you say πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

πŸ“Έ 1: The empty finish line - I was def one of the last few athletes across the line before the crazy storm rolled through, temps dropped by 30 degrees and race was paused β›ˆοΈπŸŒ©οΈπŸŒͺ️

πŸ“Έ 2: The finish line just moments before I made it there 😳

πŸ“Έ 3 & 4: We only πŸŠβ€β™€οΈ in the lake and never went into the canal due to previous flooding - it was actually awesome! T1 was in Nortshore park

πŸ“Έ 5 & 6: The πŸš΄πŸ»β€β™€οΈ was 94 miles with about 100+ turns 😳 because the original course was flooded 😒! It was a mayhem but the volunteers were so amazing and despite such a crazy bike course I felt safe and so well supported it was one of the reasons I wanted to come back for the full experience

πŸ“Έ 7: pre storm humidity is absolutely insane πŸ₯΅πŸ₯΅πŸ₯΅ and 99% of that run course was absolutely suffocating

And you all know what happened next! I have raced IMTX every year since then except for the Covid years because it really is amazing as they say and now I can even sleep in my own πŸ›ŒπŸ˜Ž

See y’all in 2027? πŸ’ƒπŸ»πŸ€ πŸͺ©

Two days ago I woke up to an email from (aaaaaaaand lots of texts, msgs etc from friends and the social media 🌎) telling me & all of you to sign up for IMTX 2027 🀠 Have you? 😜 Then I opened YouTube (swipe right), and there I was again πŸ˜±πŸ˜€πŸ™ˆ … pretty darn cool πŸ˜€πŸ‘

I know Ironman could have chosen anyone, so this kind of like winning lottery just without the πŸ’°πŸ˜‚

So why not see if β€œAnything Is Possible” and maybe will decide to respond to this AND give me a free entry to next years β€œparty on the Hardy” aka IMTX 2027 🀠

What do you guys think? It would be my 9th Ironman Texas since 2016, and nice little gesture from Ironman, wouldn’t it?
