Todayβs menu: 4h ride & 20 min ππ»ββοΈ (first 𧱠since IMTX) β
and still more degrees than miles π
The extremely sweaty βsummer energyβ is here ππ€¨π₯΅ β¦ for us Texans that means sweating excessively regardless of time of day, questioning our fitness because the pace/power that usually feels easy no longer feels easy , sunglasses need windshield wipers so you can actually see the road , and no liquid stays cold enough for more then an hour if you are lucky π€£
I would still rather be hot than cold but summers here in the Woodlands are def tough! Thankfully we have air conditioning unlike the Europeans π€¨
You also get really good at pacing by heart rate AND hydration/fueling because every little mistake gets magnified π in these conditions π₯΅
My 2 non negotiables for a long summer ride:
β½οΈ Precision Fuel & Hydration carb mix + carb/electrolyte mix
π‘οΈ CORE Body Temperature to monitor my core temperature
Would you rather be HOT or COLD? Comment below β¬οΈ

2027 70.3 Worlds in Chattanooga, TN? YES, please πππ₯³
I did the very first 70.3 Worlds in Chattanooga back in 2017 and I absolutely loved it! And before anyone says BUT the πββοΈ is downriver - not to worry - it wasnβt!
The course was completely different of what the chatty 70.3 is except for the ππ»ββοΈ course which i think was the same.
πββοΈ was actually across and against the current for the first half, then we did finish with the current
π΅π»ββοΈ course was also very different and we climbed Lookout mountain which was an absolute blast and the bike course in its entirety was dynamic and FUN!
I think itβs time to figure out where to qualify π
Who else is excited about this venue?

How is this for a blast from the past π!
16 summers ago π€―, still forgetting to unclip at times π€£ (havenβt we all fallen over once or twice?) , quickly dreaming BIG and truly enjoying the process to this day - it would be 3 years before I did my very first Ironman and as they say the rest is history π€
Dream big kids (and adults) π«

Time trial Tuesday sweaty edition π€ because itβs June in TX which means outdoor temps & humidity are π and slowly but surely reaching the obnoxious level ππ₯΅π«
It also means when training outdoors that the π΄π»ββοΈpower or ππ»ββοΈ pace will be a lower at the same HR which doesnβt mean you are not getting more fit, it just means your body is dealing with the extreme elements π₯΅ and needs to adjust π. And finally, staying hydrated becomes a full time job!
Happy training π

First time back outside on the π since IMTX & we were vibing ππΆπ€ even if we have slowly but surely entered the part of the year when winning a wet tshirt or jersey contest is always a possibility ππ₯΅π¦

As I wait for to respond about my 2027 registration thanks to my βextraordinaryβ modeling abilities π€£π€£π€£ (I am still hopeful they will π€π€π€), here is a little trip down memory lane on this Friday β¬οΈ
10 years ago yesterday!!!! π€―π€ π±
My very first Ironman Texas and one Iβll certainly never forget! What started out as I just want to do a race with similar conditions to Kona so I can get more experience racing in the heat & humidity turned to SO MUCH MORE and I started calling the Woodlands my home π‘ 2.5 years later π
May 14th, 2016: The laat time race was in May - can you say π₯π₯π₯
πΈ 1: The empty finish line - I was def one of the last few athletes across the line before the crazy storm rolled through, temps dropped by 30 degrees and race was paused βοΈπ©οΈπͺοΈ
πΈ 2: The finish line just moments before I made it there π³
πΈ 3 & 4: We only πββοΈ in the lake and never went into the canal due to previous flooding - it was actually awesome! T1 was in Nortshore park
πΈ 5 & 6: The π΄π»ββοΈ was 94 miles with about 100+ turns π³ because the original course was flooded π’! It was a mayhem but the volunteers were so amazing and despite such a crazy bike course I felt safe and so well supported it was one of the reasons I wanted to come back for the full experience
πΈ 7: pre storm humidity is absolutely insane π₯΅π₯΅π₯΅ and 99% of that run course was absolutely suffocating
And you all know what happened next! I have raced IMTX every year since then except for the Covid years because it really is amazing as they say and now I can even sleep in my own ππ
See yβall in 2027? ππ»π€ πͺ©

Two days ago I woke up to an email from (aaaaaaaand lots of texts, msgs etc from friends and the social media π) telling me & all of you to sign up for IMTX 2027 π€ Have you? π Then I opened YouTube (swipe right), and there I was again π±ππ β¦ pretty darn cool ππ
I know Ironman could have chosen anyone, so this kind of like winning lottery just without the π°π
So why not see if βAnything Is Possibleβ and maybe will decide to respond to this AND give me a free entry to next years βparty on the Hardyβ aka IMTX 2027 π€
What do you guys think? It would be my 9th Ironman Texas since 2016, and nice little gesture from Ironman, wouldnβt it?
Like, comment, share - lets see if we can make it happen π
