Its going to be another hot one this weekend we will start at 830 again or sooner if everyone is ready.

Competitors at the Legacy Kart Track weren’t just racing each other on Saturday.

They were also trying to outrun a forecast of oppressive heat, so that meant the first green flag flew at 8:30 a.m.

In case you haven’t heard about Legacy Karting, it’s a relatively new venue off of I-90 Exit 52, near Black Hawk.

Shelby Moore carved the small oval into a slight incline on land owned by Rex Conrad northeast of the Interstate.

That slight incline means racers are charging downhill into turns 1 and 2.
The extra momentum often took karts deep into the turns, leaving their competition with openings to grab a position.

All in all, a pretty racy day.
And it’s a good thing they wrapped up by 10:30 a.m. Rapid City set an all-time high temp of 110 degrees, the highest reading since record-keeping began in 1888.

Next races are August 8-9.

Ive been talking with a couple race teams that's been having trouble. Please make sure catch cans have a vent, make sure its not plugged with gunk.
