Autumn Flow

Oh Beautiful Souls,
I’ve missed you so.

Over the course of this past year I have been rediscovering and reinventing myself.
I had lost sight of my truth, my strength, and my instincts.
After shining quite a bit of light on where my path was leading me, I admitted to myself that what was once my calling, no longer brought me joy.
I did a lot of work to make peace with deep-rooted heartache; learning to let go and find the courage to begin down a new path.
I will always be an artist at heart, and I will always have the desire to connect with others, uplift them, and use my creativity to serve them.
I can only pour myself into others when I am able to fill up my own cup. And my cup was bone dry.
I turned to photography to fulfill my creative outlet, capture life just as it is, and dive back into the pursuit of play and learning.

My great love and interest in photography has naturally been growing over many years. Friends and family had been encouraging me to pursue it professionally but…imposter syndrome.
Well, here I am. I’ve moved past self-sabotage and resistance and I’m living out a dream that I always believed was unrealistic for me.

My photography business is growing. I am creating visual poetry. I am overcoming fears. I am making mistakes and learning from them. I am surprising myself. I am disappointing myself too. I have an expressive voice. I am telling stories. I am capturing people’s true essence. I am me again.
I’ve never been a traditional or trendy type of person. So being able to explore and develop my own style is so invigorating. Most of all it’s so important to me that I shoot what I feel, not just what I see. My desire is to deliver photos to clients that make them feel something.

For now my hoops are laid aside while I nurture my photography career and talent.
I know I will return to them. I am so extremely grateful for everything I’ve learned along my hoop dance journey and all the extremely beautiful souls I’ve met.
