Something I've been trying out is the dry start method with this carpeting plant. This plant is Hemianthus Callitrichoides, also known as hc cuba. To grow the plant into a nice lush carpet I sprayed down the soil in the aquarium until it was all wet, I planted the little plugs of hc everywhere, and then saran wrapped the top of the tank. I put the light (a strong light) on a timer of 12 hours a day. And then for gas exchange the saran wrap is lifted 2 times a day for 20 minutes. This helps get fresh air O², and CO² in the tank for the plants to feed from. As well it helps prevent any mold growth. This tank is 5 weeks old. And I will soon be filling it with more plants and water. Then adding a CO² system to ensure healthy lush growth from the plants.
