Bay Area Summer Collegiate League

The BASCL is pleased to announce our inaugural defensive player of the year for the summer of 2026 is Baytown’s very own Nolan Reznichek. The thing that makes this announcement so special is Nolan took a year off due to injury after graduating from Baytown GCM High School in 2024. He comes back this summer and moves from outfield to third base and absolutely locks in and locks down the hot corner. Truly an inspiring story from a tremendously talented and special young man. Nolan turned his successful summer into an opportunity to play baseball and continue his education at the next level for ABU in Dallas. Congratulations Nolan Reznichek, 2026 BASCL Defensive MVP.

More end of the summer season awards to hand out as the BASCL has wrapped up its historic inaugural season. The league pitcher of the year award was hotly contested but in the end a local product from Crosby, Texas Aaron Martinez won out. Arron was a lock down Monday night starter throughout the season. Every single time he stepped on the mound became a quality start. Never once throughout the season did he leave the game with his team on the wrong side of the scoreboard. After a great summer in the BASCL Aaron reports to Southeastern Oklahoma State to begin his junior year of college baseball. Congratulations Aaron on your well deserved recognition and becoming the very first pitcher of the year for the BASCL.

With the end of the season of the Bay Area League we have some awards to announce. Coach of the year goes to Trevor Sebek the head coach of the Salty Seagulls(pictured below on the left with assistant coach Danny Dial)who won the regular season championship and were Co-champions of the post season. Coach Sebek now returns to his regular season coaching position at Saint Edwards college in Austin, Texas where he will do an amazing job. Thank for your hard work and dedication to the BASCL and congratulations on earning our very first Coach of the Year award.

The inaugural first season of the Bay Area Summer Collegiate League has come to an end. The Salty Seagulls won the regular season championship and the post season championship was declared co-champions between the Salty Seagulls and the Saltwater Sluggers due to weather not allowing us to get the third game of the World Series in. It was a great adventure, I am very proud of all the staff, coaches, players, and volunteers. We could not have accomplished this first season without the support of GCCISD, our amazing sponsors Bayer Heritage Credit Union and SMP supply. Thank you Baytown, we go into the offseason working to comeback bigger and better for summer 2027.

After an unforgettable inaugural season, the Salty Seagulls and Saltwater Sluggers are set to battle for the Bay Area Summer Collegiate League Championship in a best-of-three World Series.

Three nights. Elite competition. One final opportunity to watch some of the nation’s top collegiate talent compete before the 2026 season comes to a close.

This league was built to create opportunities for players, unite our community, and inspire the next generation through the game of baseball. Now, we invite you to be part of the final chapter of our historic first season.

Nothing to see here, just two guys living their best life and watching some Bay Area Summer Collegiate League baseball. Living the Dream.

The BASCL had the incredible opportunity to put on two free youth baseball camps the past two days for Baytown GCCISD zoned players. We also had the opportunity to bring in some players outside our Baytown zoned areas for a very affordable price. A lot of instruction was provided by our college players and coaches. These young baseball players that came out learned a lot and had a great time. A very special thank you to our great sponsors at Bayer Heritage Federal Credit Union that supports us through our community projects. Thank you to GCCISD for your continued support in all we do. Thank you to all of our BASCL players and coaches that volunteered your time and effort to make a difference in these young ball players lives the past couple days. We are Baytown proud and Baytown Strong. Together we can and Together we will.
