225U Select Baseball

225U Select wraps up the Summer with a 5-2 record in the USSSA Where Y’at World Series with wins over eventual Champion WOW Factor Gulf Coast-Harris, St. Bernard Parish All-Stars, St. James Parish All-Stars and a pair of wins over Outlaws Black. Incredible Summer for the boys as they racked up a 16-6-1 overall record. We can’t wait to see the incredible things they each accomplish as they head to High School baseball.

225U Select wraps up Pool Play with two more wins, 11-2 over St. Bernard All-Stars 14U and 9-0 over Outlaws Black, to finish 3-0 and claim the #1 seed in the USSSA Where Y’at World Series!

In Game One, Jacob Martin and Colin Vaughn combined to toss 3 hitless, scoreless innings, racking up 4 strikeouts. Luke Skinner added a pair of strikeouts in his Select pitching debut.

Mark Wilson, Robbie Miesch, and Colin Vaughn combined to pick up 3 hits, score 2 runs, and drive in 4 more. Luke Skinner, Eli Tanner, and Jacob Martin weren’t retired and combined for 3 BB and 2 HBP.

In Game Two, Luke Doiron and Mark Wilson combined to NO-HIT the Outlaws, tossing 3 scoreless innings. Doiron notched 4 Ks in his 2.2 innings and Wilson picked up the final out on a punch out of his own.

6 Select hitters reached each time they stepped to the plate. Landon Morvant, Will Boudreaux, Luke Skinner, Eli Tanner, John Walker, and Luke Doiron combined to go 4-4 with 7 walks, 4 runs scored, and 7 RBI.

We’re back in action tomorrow for Game 1 of double-elimination bracket play against the winner of the 8:30 AM first-round contest between the #8 seed WOW Factor Gulf Coast-Harris and the #9 seed Patriots 14U.

225U Select opens up the USSSA Where Y’at World Series with a 3-2 Pool Play victory over WOW Factor Gulf Coast-Harris!

Louis Black picked up the win on the mound after tossing 2.2 scoreless innings of relief, striking out a pair. Robbie Miesch notched the save, recording the final out.

Joe Thompson and John Walker each walked and scored a run in their lone plate appearances. Mark Wilson scored a run and drove in the go-ahead run, beating out a potential inning-ending double play to give Select the lead for good.

We’re back in action tomorrow with our final two Pool Play games at 6:50 PM and 8:30 PM at Val Riess against St. Bernard All-Stars 14U and Outlaws Black.

225U Select moves to 2-0 in Pool Play in the 2D Wood Bat World Series after a 13-5 victory over Acadiana Cajuns 2030!

Robbie Miesch picked up the win on the mound for Select. He tossed a complete game, allowing only 3 hits and 2 ER in his second straight CG victory.

Mark Wilson, Will Boudreaux, Luke Skinner, and Luke Doiron combined to reach all 11 times they stepped to the plate, going 6-6 with 2 doubles, 5 walks, 3 RBI, and 10 runs scored. Jackson Pickett added a double and another multi-hit game, Landon Morvant reached twice and drove in a pair, Louis Black added a double, a run scored, and an RBI, and Robbie Miesch notched a pair of RBI.

We’re back in action tomorrow morning at 9:00 AM at SPAR, the site of the LHSAA State Championships, for our final pool matchup with Oakland A’s Scout Team.

225U Select opens up the 2D Wood Bat World Series with a dominant 13-4 victory over Marucci Elite Texas-Leger!

Luke Doiron picked up the W on the mound after allowing only 3 hits while punching out a pair. Louis Black was excellent in relief, tossing 1.2 scoreless innings of 1-hit ball, striking out a pair while throwing nearly 70% of his pitches for strikes.

Offensively, it was a hit parade as Select banged out 11 hits with the wood bats. Mark Wilson, Luke Skinner, Luke Doiron, and Joe Thompson each picked up multi-hit games. Jackson Pickett reached all 3 times he stepped to the plate in his Select debut and Will Boudreaux scored 3 runs.

We’re back in action tomorrow with Game 2 of Pool Play in the 2D Wood Bat World Series at 2:30 PM at Sam Houston High School against Acadiana Cajuns 2030.

225U Select wraps up a dominant and undefeated Pool Play weekend in Hattiesburg, run-ruling Canes MS Scout 15U 10-0 on Sunday morning!

Joe Thompson was terrific on the mound. He tossed a complete game shutout victory, going 6 innings, allowing only 2 hits, and notching a pair of strikeouts.

Mark Wilson was perfect at the plate, going 3-3 with a double, a pair of runs scored, and 3 RBI. Luke Skinner and Colin Vaughn each picked up multi-hit games and combined for 2 doubles and 4 RBI.

With the win, 225U Select has won Pool A of the 2D South Mississippi Showdown and will play in the Championship game tonight at 6:00 PM at Petal High School.

225U Select stays hot in Hattiesburg, picking up their 3rd consecutive Pool Play win, defeating East Coast Sox-Victus by the final score of 9-3!

John Walker was dominant on the bump once again. The righty tossed a complete game win, firing 6 innings of 5-hit ball, allowing only 3 R while punching out 2.

Walker also paced the offense, going 3-3 on the day with an RBI. Louis Black and Joe Thompson each added multi-hit games, combining to score 4 runs. Mark Wilson and Robbie Miesch each added a pair of RBI in the win.
