Our Capital Defenders had a great game against Big Easy Roller Derby 2nd Line last night! We had a great comeback from the end of our first period (112 2L - 60 CDs) to almost winning!! 2L is a great team and it was amazing to play them! Thank you for having us Big Easy and a very happy 20th birthday 🎊 💜🤍 🎉

Tomorrow is the last of our mid season tryouts for our All Stars this year! If you are an experienced roller derby skater and want to develop your skills as part of a high level team, come sign up! Tryouts will take part during our regular All Star practice to evaluate individual skills and team fit.

We had a great time this past weekend with our doubleheader mashups! Some fantastically geriatric skaters showed those young whippersnappers how it’s done in the Sprinkles vs Wrinkles mashup and Big Easy Roller Derby did great against our Breadstick Rising. We were happy to help give them some more game time before their appearance at Contender’s Cup in 2 weeks!

Thank you to all who came out for this celebration of our 19th birthday! I’m sure we’ll have an even better celebration next year for our 20th!
